Dear Marcia,
Some would say 30 years is a long time, but it seems like just yesterday that I began my journey with the Great Plains Food Bank.
Of course, a lot has actually changed in that time. When I began, we had just four employees. I did everything from filling in on truck routes to being solely responsible for marketing efforts and agency relations work.
Today, we have grown to employ a team of 39 employees supported by a force of more than 5,000 volunteers that provided food for almost 18 million meals last year across North Dakota and western Minnesota.
But one thing that hasn’t changed in all of those years is your faithful support. Committed friends like you have been there all along to ensure our neighbors in need have access to nutritious food.
Now, as I begin my next chapter in retirement, I am confident you will remain steadfast in your support of the Great Plains Food Bank — as will I.
It’s because of stories like Ashley’s (page 7) that the Great Plains Food Bank remains committed to ensuring every person in our communities has enough food, and through your partnership, I know it can and will happen.
Thank you for the great honor of serving as Chief Executive Officer of this amazing organization. I remain your committed partner in hunger relief.
