Thank you so much for your incredible generosity in donating clothing to our 6th Annual Cradles to Crayons drive! The drive was a huge success as we were able to collect over 40 bags of donations. Your contributions will make a significant difference in the lives of children in need. We are truly grateful for your support and commitment to helping those in need! 

Home of the Sparrow's Giving Garage 2024!

Caring Hands is partnering with Home of the Sparrow again starting Nov. 18th.

This year Home of the Sparrow is looking to fill their Giving Garage in effort to support women and mothers in need.

KEEP A FAMILY WARM THIS WINTER

AND

CLEAN OUT YOUR COATS!

These coats will be distributed to local families in need through the graces of the Devereux Foundation. 

We encourage you all to participate in a coat closet clean out and keep a family warm in these upcoming winter months!

This year we will be hosting our Annual Coat Drive one again with the Great Valley Elementary Schools!

Collection spots will be set up at the Elementary Schools and at the GVCO Community Center.

The drive at KDM ends the December 20th and General Wayne December 12th.

We are collecting child and adult-sized lightly used, recently cleaned winter coats.

Challenger Gym Marks its 15th Year of the Program!

GVCO is very excited to be hosting Challenger Gym again this year!

Challenger Gym is a recreational community gym program for kids who have physical, emotional and/or other extra challenges. The emphasis is on having fun by providing physical activities in which the kids can successfully participate, and forging relationships between kids with extra challenges and high school buddies, mostly from Great Valley High School.

The program is held every Thursday for seven weeks. The participating children are paired with one or two high school students based on the level of assistance they need to participate successfully. There are five or six different activities during the one-hour session such as obstacle courses, bowling, balloon fun, relay races and lots of throwing games. Each child is unique, so activities are adapted as needed. Some work individually on skills, but there are always large group activities designed to get everyone involved. 

Under the direction of Wendy Morris, a licensed and practicing physical therapist, the “buddies” are guided in building relationships and helping everyone to successfully participate.

Over the years, the responses have been fantastic. Friendships have been forged and a comfort level interacting with people of all abilities has left life-long impressions on many. 

This holiday season..

Help give back to senior citizens!

On 12/8, Caring Hands volunteers will wrap presents for local senior citizens. GVCO will take the presents to senior citizen organizations for distribution at their holiday parties.

Thank you all for volunteering and interest in GVCO Caring Hands.

For many, many years, this group successfully produced an incredible amount of philanthropy for our Great Valley Community and surrounding region.

When signing up, please ensure that you will be able to attend. The volunteer spots fill up fast - we want to ensure that spots are not being wasted by those who do not show up. 

If you are unable to attend an event after you already signed up, delete your sign up on SignUp Genius. Your spot will open up for another volunteer.

Students interested in joining Caring Hands should sign up for the 2024-2025 Caring Hands email list. Caring Hands newsletters and event updates will be sent via Constant Contact to the submitted email addresses for both parent and student

On Tuesdays and Thursdays this Fall, the Back to Basics organization is holding English Language Learner classes at GVCO.

Thank you to all who donated blood at the blood drive!

From now on, every September and March, GVCO will host a blood drive. For more information, please email community@gvco.org.
