Jewish HomeLife's New Training Center
Thanks to the Rich Foundation’s generous $150,000 donation, Jewish HomeLife has been able to demonstrate our ongoing commitment to training and education throughout our 9 core business lines. The newly opened Rich Foundation Training Center is constructed with state of the art technology, flexibility, and hands-on practicum in mind. A large, modular space is set up with video conferencing technology in a classroom style that can comfortably accommodate 24 team members with individual computers and work stations.
The opposite side of the dividable room is a practical side where bedside skills, hands-on equipment training, and advanced nursing education can be performed on mannequins. As part of the new training center, a team lounge was also constructed for a casual break space between classes.
Access to a refrigerator, microwave and coffee station will promote socialization of staff during breaks
. The donation was also used to build out two new offices that will house critical Quality and Training leadership roles that support all of Jewish HomeLife.

The Auxiliary Develops a New Outdoor Area
Over the years our Auxiliary has benefited from many patrons, donors, and members who have given of themselves to make the William Breman Jewish Home a wonderful place for residents to live. One particular person has for many years gone above and beyond for the organization, Steve Berman. This year the Auxiliary is honoring Steve by developing a quiet butterfly and bird garden at The William Breman Jewish Home for residents and family members to enjoy. In organizing this area The Auxiliary is adopting Steve’s philosophy that with patience and determination we can create a lasting impact. Just like Steve, we are planting seeds that will blossom and create a legacy.
The Auxiliary also has secured a donation from longtime supporters, Sandy and Dave Abrams, who will curate and create a colorful and whimsical garden that is sure to bring happiness to our residents. In addition to birdhouses and art pieces, we will be installing plants and flowers that will attract both birds and butterflies. We look forward to adding informative and engaging programming for residents who, like Sandy and Dave, love a shady, relaxing garden setting.

JHL's First Ever Team Member Picnic
On Sunday, June 23
rd, Jewish HomeLife hosted its very first team summer picnic. Team members had the opportunity to bond outside of work and meet each other’s families. Keith’s Corner BBQ was on-site preparing lunch to accompany our bounce-house for the kids, access to the MJCCA’s pool, lake activities, games, and more.
The fun began when Director of Food Service and Facilities, Zacka Gomes, defeated CEO, Harley Tabak, in a sack race after a competitive game of tug-of-war. Rain clouds threatened to ruin our fun, but COO, Jeff Gopen, accompanied the children in dancing in the rain! The fun continued as team members won door prizes and enjoyed the day.
The HR staff delivered food to our dedicated staff who were scheduled to work the day of the picnic. It was an amazing time with a large turn out. This being our first ever summer picnic, we are looking to expand the fun even more for next year.
