5 Things the Chamber Did For You Last Week

  1. Put Oxnard on the map when Chamber CEO Nancy Lindholm spoke at a Political Action Boot Camp for the Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives' national conference.
  2. Held another business visit (this time at CURE Pharmaceutical) with Oxnard city management in an effort to keep them apprised of the challenges local businesses face.
  3. The Chamber's Water Issues Committee meeting featured a presentation from United Water on "2018-2019 Recharging Oxnard’s Water Supply.”
  4. Provided plenty of networking opportunities and some history lessons at the Oxnard Historic Farmpark & Museum during Happy Hour 1.5, hosted by Jeff Maulhardt of Maulhardt Insurance Agency. View photos on Facebook.
  5. Partnered with the Ventura County Taxpayers Association, the Greater Conejo Chamber, the Camarillo Chamber, and the Ventura Chamber to finalize plans for the August 1 State of the County luncheon.

Major issues still pending at legislative summer break
The remaining job killers include two identical bills proposing unprecedented product regulation; an anti-arbitration bill similar to one vetoed last year; a bill that would require employers to pay unemployment for striking employees; and a bill threatening water supply reliability for millions of Californians.
