Tim Hortons Holiday Smile Cookie Campaign Brings in $3,357.50 for Community Care!
|
The results are in, and we’re smiling brighter than ever! The Tim Hortons Holiday Smile Cookie Campaign was a huge success, raising a total of $3,357.50 for Community Care Northumberland!
A big thank you to Tim Hortons in Brighton for choosing Community Care as their charity partner and for their generous support. We’re also incredibly grateful to the CCN staff and volunteers who braved the cold, rain, and everything in between to help decorate cookies and encourage people in the drive-thru to participate!
A special shout out to owner Jim Robertson, manager Darlene Jeffery, and the entire Tim Hortons Brighton team for their hard work in making this campaign such a sweet success!

The Lorenz family has been a cornerstone of support for Ed’s House Northumberland Hospice Care Centre, and their legacy is truly inspiring. Ed and Diane were the first to help make Ed’s House a reality, and now their son Peter and his wife Denise have proudly picked up the torch, continuing the family’s tradition of giving back.
Though Ed and Diane are no longer with us, their spirit of generosity and community care lives on through their family. The Lorenz family’s ongoing support shows how one family can create a lasting impact on a community. It’s not just about the financial contributions, but the values they’ve passed down, and the way they’ve inspired others to get involved.
We are deeply grateful for the Lorenz family’s dedication, and we hope their story encourages other families in our community to pick up the torch and get involved.
Together, we can continue to support Ed’s House and ensure that families in need always have a place to turn for compassionate care.

Thank You, The Ignite Company!
|
We were thrilled to welcome Jaclyn Diminie, Dennis Sicard, and the incredible team at The Ignite Company as they delivered the amazing contributions from their 2nd Annual Holiday Cheer Campaign!
Throughout December, Ignite’s members, local hockey teams they train, and generous business partners came together to make a difference. The campaign wrapped up with a fantastic holiday party, bringing the community closer in support of Ed’s House and Hospice Services.
Thanks to their hard work and leadership:
- $3,120 in cash donations was raised!
- Over $2,500 in essential supplies was donated for our kitchen and care teams!
We are deeply grateful for Jaclyn and Dennis’s dedication and for everyone at The Ignite Company who joined forces to bring hope and care to those we serve. Your generosity is truly inspiring and makes a meaningful difference in the lives of so many. Thank you for being part of our community!

Wayne, a dedicated Volunteer Transportation Driver with Community Care Northumberland, has been making a difference in our community for years!
When asked about his most memorable and rewarding moment, Wayne shared, “I am involved in various volunteer services within our community, each of which stands out as being helpful and appreciated by the people I help. That’s all I need to be happy!”
Wayne also offers this advice to others considering volunteering: “They will definitely not regret deciding to volunteer. Each experience is an extremely rewarding one.”
Thank you, Wayne, for your amazing support!

Celebrating the Success of the Eighth Annual Adopt a Grandparent Program
|
Once again, the eighth annual Community Care Northumberland Adopt a Grandparent program was a great success. We matched 144 grandparents with donors, our largest number yet! We couldn’t have done it without the support of staff, volunteers, and donors. Many hours were spent collecting names, matching donors with grandparents, shopping, organizing gifts, and, of course, delivering them. Although the program officially launches on November 1st each year, planning for it happens year-round.
A huge thank you goes out to everyone involved. Many Christmases were made brighter and happier, as reflected in the many phone calls of thanks we’ve received.
"What a beautiful Christmas gift! I want to thank you all. It's just wonderful. I love everything in it. I've already put on the housecoat and the slippers. Thank you, thank you, thank you, from the bottom of my heart!"
Thank you from Community Care Northumberland and the Wellness Team.
