Dear Student Community,

We recognize what a challenging time this is on our campus and for our global community. It is important to us that we share all of the many resources that are available to you at this time and we will continue to share them with you as quickly as we can. In thinking of your health and well-being, we are exploring multiple new ways for our students to easily access acute care.

Mental Health Support

A generous offer of telehealth therapy support has been extended to our Jewish student community as everyone is navigating the events in Israel differently and on their own time.

Cerebral.com is donating one month of free therapy for up to 50 of our students. Through this service, you will be able to work with a licensed therapist virtually through weekly 45 minute sessions. Therapists are available days, nights, and weekends to best fit your class and other schedules. All therapists are experienced in helping manage grief, trauma, stressful life events, and more.

To access this service, follow these important steps:

  • Visit Cerebral.com and click “Get Started” to sign up for an account. Please be sure to use your campus zip code when creating an account to be matched with a Michigan-based therapist

  • At check out, please select the monthly therapy plan (a price point of $295) and add the promo code MichiganHillel2023 for 100% off the first month (Note: They ask that you do not share this on social media to ensure our student community members in need are able to take advantage of this service).

  • You will be asked to enter a credit card number when signing up, however, your credit card will not be charged unless you decide to continue therapy past the first 30 days. **To cancel before you are charged, go to the “Account” link in the app, click “Subscription Plan”, and select “Cancel My Plan” and “Yes, Proceed with Cancellation” - make sure to do this before your next billing cycle.

Academic Support

If you are struggling academically at this time and/or need help getting support from your professors, you can reach out to the Dean of Students Office here. Additionally, if you have an immediate concern about the wellbeing of a friend, you can submit a report to the Dean of Students Office and someone will follow up with you about the support they can provide.

As always, our staff is here for you to help navigate any of these resources.

We wish you a restful Shabbat and Fall Break.

B'Shalom,

Michigan Hillel
