Brown Jug Day & Teacher Inservice Day

Principal_s_corner_p1.png

Dear Families and School Community,

I hope you all have a wonderful and relaxing break! We look forward to welcoming everyone back to school on Monday, September 28.

As we head into this time off, the fall season is officially in full swing—bringing cooler weather, cozy sweaters, and great local traditions! A quick reminder that the famous Little Brown Jug race is this Thursday, making it the perfect way to kick off the long weekend.

Whether you're heading to the track to catch the harness racing, enjoying the fair, or just soaking up the festive autumn atmosphere, I hope you take some time to make great fall memories with family and friends.

Enjoy the well-deserved rest, stay safe, and we will see you next week!

Pacer Period in Action!

All students receive interventions during Pacer Period to stretch and / or intervene with their learning!

First grade students are designing their cars for their upcoming car show!

We encourage students to read their library books at school and at home! Reading would be a great activity to do over the Jug day off!

Student use of cellular phones and other electronic communication devices will not be permitted during the school day from 8:30-3:15.

Personal communication devices, including cell phones, earbuds, headphones and watches, must be powered off and stored out of sight during the entire school day. Exceptions may be made to accommodate IEP/504 plans and for documented medical reasons.

As always, if you have an urgent need to get a message to your student, please call our school office and our staff will ensure the message is delivered.

Enhanced School Volunteer Procedures

In order to ensure the safety and security of our students, staff and volunteers, the following volunteer guidelines and expectations will need to be completed prior to volunteering in our schools:

  1. Volunteers must complete the volunteer form each school year in which they wish to volunteer.
  2. Volunteers must complete and acknowledge the volunteer training (training video included in the form).
  3. Volunteers working in our buildings under the supervision of school staff (library volunteer, classroom volunteer, field day volunteer, guest speaker/reader, PTO volunteers, etc.) must sign in using the district's visitor management system.
  4. Volunteers who will be supervising students other than their own child on offsite field trips or overnight trips will be required to complete a more extensive background check (there is a nominal fee for a background check). School staff will notify a volunteer if a background check is required and provide an online link to complete the background check.
