From the desk of Mrs. Stewart

I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the families, students, and community members who joined us to help plant the Carlisle Elementary Pollinator Habitat Garden and spread the mulch generously donated by Price Farms.

This special event was inspired by our very own Olivia Jaksetic, who chose to celebrate her birthday by raising and donating money for the 60 native plants that now brighten our school grounds. Her generosity and leadership are a true example of what it means to be a kind, respectful, and responsible Pacer.

Next time you visit our school, we invite you to stop by the garden and enjoy the beauty that has been created through the efforts of our students, families, and partners.

Together, we are growing something lasting for both our school and community!

This week at Carlisle...

Our kind, respectful, responsible 2nd graders helped to prepare for the pollinator garden! Thank you 2nd grade team!!

First grade is preparing for their car show on October 6th!

Students in Mrs. Allen's 2nd grade class are sharing math strategies

Our next meeting will be on October 21 at 7:00 PM—we hope to see you there!

Your voice and involvement make a big difference for our school!

Please consider volunteering for one of the upcoming PTO events...

Student Absence Reporting Procedure

School Messenger.png

Please report your child's absence by calling

1-844-817-5313 (toll free)

or online at

go.schoolmessenger.com

If you are a new user, you must create an online account to use the web portal / phone app features.  Your email must match the email you use to log in to your PowerSchool Parent Portal.

  • If you do not report your child's absence, you will receive phone calls / texts / emails via our interactive phone system for you to verify your student's absence. You may also receive calls from the school office.

  • You may report your student's absence for the same day until 15 minutes after the start of school. After that time, you must call the school office or use the interactive features when you receive a notification call.

  • You can schedule planned absences in advance by using the online portal or Smartphone App.

  • It is important that you maintain a current phone number and email address with your child's school to ensure timely communication regarding your child.

Changes in your student's normal dismissal routine:

Please send a note to your child's teacher and contact the school office at 740-833-1450. Please call the office by 2:00 pm for any same day dismissal changes. If there is no contact with the school regarding the change, your child will follow their normal dismissal routine.

Cell Phone Policy Reminder

The State of Ohio recently passed legislation that prohibits the use of cell phones during the school day in an effort to minimize distractions and support a focused learning environment for all students. Student use of cellular phones and other electronic communication devices will not be permitted during the school day from 8:30-3:15.

Personal communication devices, including cell phones, earbuds, headphones and watches, must be powered off and stored out of sight during the entire school day. Exceptions may be made to accommodate IEP/504 plans and for documented medical reasons.

As always, if you have an urgent need to get a message to your student, please call our school office and our staff will ensure the message is delivered.

September Lunch Menu

There will be a charge for school lunches and breakfast this year.

If you believe you qualify for free or reduced meal benefits, please complete the meal application during the forms process. Parents may add money to lunch accounts through Payschools or by sending money with the student in a sealed envelope.

25-26 Meal Prices:

Building Security Procedures
Untitled Design

Delaware City Schools has implemented an enhanced visitor management system at all schools and the district office.

The system will allow us to screen visitors, contractors, and volunteers during the school day and better track the guests in our buildings. Visitor management systems are considered a best practice, and schools across the state and nation have used them successfully to screen and track school visitors.

Visitors to our schools, including volunteers, will need to present a government issued ID card (most common is driver’s license) which will be scanned into the system.

The system checks the visitor's name and date of birth for comparison with a national database of registered sex offenders and various criminal databases. Once entry is approved, the visitor will be issued a temporary badge that should be worn during the visit.

The safety of our students is our highest priority, and we thank you in advance for your understanding and your support in enhancing the school safety protocols in our district.
