From the desk of Mrs. Stewart

I am incredibly proud of our 4th and 5th graders for their hard work and determination during this week’s ELA state testing. Their focus, effort, and perseverance were truly impressive, and I know they gave it their very best! Please join me in celebrating their dedication to learning.

Looking ahead, next week brings another important milestone as our 5th graders take their Math state test and our 3rd graders begin their ELA state testing. Your support at home—ensuring they get plenty of rest, eat a good breakfast, and arrive on time—makes a world of difference.

Thank you for being such wonderful partners in your child's education. Let’s continue to encourage our students as they work hard and shine!

Each month, Miss Miller's 3rd grade class takes on a challenge related to their learning that extends beyond the classroom. This month, they have been studying Delaware history and the students earn tickets for visiting and taking pictures next to any historical landmark in Delaware. Here are a few students taking on the challenge!

Dear Parents / Guardians:

As a school staff, we put great consideration into creating the best learning environments for all students. If you have input you would like to add as we collaborate through this process, please email the principal or call the school and we will send you an input form.

Please note:

Because many factors are considered in student placement, specific requests for teachers are not encouraged nor can they be guaranteed.

We believe this important process creates an optimal learning environment for all involved. Thank you ! We are anticipating a fantastic 2025-2026 school year!

3rd, 4th, and 5th Grade Parents/Caregivers,

Breaking News... OSTs are Coming!

Ohio State Tests are coming up! In the month of April, your student will be taking OSTs (see exact grade level dates below), and you can help them feel calm, prepared, and confident about the tests!

Ideas to help support your student during testing season:

- The night before a test, make sure your student is getting enough sleep (8-10 hrs.), so they are able to do their best!

- Ensure your child eats a nutritious and filling breakfast the day of a test; their brains need fuel to think clearly!

- Wake up a few minutes early on the morning of test days. This helps ensure things run smoothly and there isn't added stress of having to rush to get to school on time.

- Review calming exercises they can use to help ease any nerves that may come up (square breathing, butterfly breathing, taking a mental vacation, etc.).

- Normalize their feelings of nervousness. Remind them it's normal and okay to feel a little nervous, it shows they care, but also remind them that their best is good enough!

- Have your child dress in comfy clothing the day of a test.

- Be positive and keep the mood light when talking about the tests! Remind them that this is their chance to show what he/she knows!

- Provide them with reassurance when needed (their best is all we ask for, and is more than enough)!

- After a test, celebrate their effort! Let your student know how proud you are of their hard work.

The most important thing you can do right before the test is to build confidence about doing his/her very best. Thank you for your continued support and involvement in your child’s education. Together we can make a difference!
