Most surveyors at this point are familiar with the idea and practice of localizing their surveys. Localizing a survey essentially means simply to tie it to a known coordinate system. A frequent example is to tie into an old survey that had been performed on an assumed datum using current GPS technology. However, that does not always have to be the case. I want to cover a few of the new features recently added to Carlson's photogrammetry solution, PhotoCapture, that you might not be aware of.

Carlson Machine Control released Carlson PD Command, a site management software that provides multiple views of pile driving machines in the field. This is a partnering software solution to Carlson’s PD Grade system developed for pile driving machines. PD Grade provides operators with field information from an MC ruggedized touch tablet to ensure proper navigation, positioning, and alignment.

Tech Support for Working Remotely with Carlson
How does working from home affect your Carlson Software licenses? If you have standalone licenses, you are entitled to install Carlson in both a work (office) and home (laptop) computer. After installing the program to the home computer, you will need to register it by selecting option “4. Home/laptop use”.
If your Carlson software is being managed through network licenses, you will be able to commute or “check out” the licenses to laptop or home computers.
Carlson is also offering flexible options to enable you to work more efficiently in the current environment. First, we are now offering both a new 90-day software license option on our most popular software, allowing users who do not normally need their own license to work from home affordably. Second, we're offering special low interest financing plans, including deferred payments, for purchases of software and hardware.
