Can I do that? - A Webinar About Nonprofit Advocacy
Sep 13, 2018 - 11:00 AM PDT / 2:00 PM EDT
As we approach election season, we are ready and willing to raise our voices, but those of us working in the non-profit world need to stop and ask: what are our legal limitations? Can I call an elected? Ask my donors or community members to call an elected? Can our organization place an ad or hold a town-hall event? Can our leadership speak publicly or write an op-ed?
On Thursday, September 13, join MAZON and the Alliance for Justice for a 75-minute webinar that will bring together staff, board, and community partners to learn about the opportunities and limits of nonprofit advocacy. We’ll discuss what constitutes lobbying (and how much lobbying we can do!), how we can talk to—and about—elected officials, and what we can and can’t say about the issues most important to us as an organization. Register HERE .
