Carolina Nursing‘s online Health Care Leadership & Administration degree ranks among best in the nation
U.S. News and World Report published its 2024 Best Online Program rankings, and Carolina Nursing is ranked seventh among the Best Online Master’s Programs in Nursing Administration and Leadership in the United States. With the support of world-class faculty, graduate students enrolled in Carolina Nursing’s online Health Care Leadership and Administration (HCLA) degree option will establish an academic foundation that blends business with person-centered care—to advance health for all in a way that is purpose-driven, inclusive, and that positively impacts health care delivery and outcomes.

The UNC School of Nursing is pleased to announce it has been recognized as an Apple Distinguished School for the 2023–2026 program term. The School was selected for this distinction based on its commitment to continuous innovation in education and using Apple products to create exemplary learning practices. Apple Distinguished Schools are recognized as some of the most innovative in the world. They’re centers of leadership and educational excellence, with a clear vision for how technology-rich environments support learning goals.

Brennan and Wu selected as Anne Belcher Interprofessional Scholars
Congratulations to Assistant Professors Kandyce Brennan, DNP, CNM, and Grace Wu, PhD, RN, who have been selected as the fifth cohort of Anne Belcher Interprofessional Faculty Scholars.
Established by Anne Belcher, MN, PhD, BSN ’67, ANEF, FAAN, this Scholars Progam was created to provide opportunities for selected faculty in the UNC School of Nursing to shape the world of interprofessional education (IPE) and to create scholarly work others will look to as evidence for the power of IPE in the future.

Senator Gale Adcock announced as 2024 commencement speaker
The University of North Carolina School of Nursing is delighted to announce Senator Gale Adcock, MSN '87, FNP-C, FAANP, FAAN, as the keynote speaker for its Spring 2024 Commencement Ceremony. The ceremony, honoring the hard work and achievements of Carolina Nursing graduates, will be held on Friday, May 10th.

Carolina Nursing is delighted to announce that Lori Byrd, DNP, MSN, RN, CNE, has been appointed as the new associate dean for strategic partnerships and practice for Carolina Nursing. With over 30 years of experience in nursing education, research and service in North Carolina, Byrd has established herself as a distinguished leader in the field.

Associate Dean Jennifer D'Auria to retire after more than three decades at UNC
After more than three decades of service on the faculty of the UNC School of Nursing, Associate Dean Jennifer D’Auria, PhD, RN, CPNP will retire on August 1, 2024. Throughout her remarkable career, Jennifer has worked tirelessly to elevate and promote the quality and reputation of our graduate practice programs. She has been involved in every detail, steering these programs through growth and transformation.

Assistant Dean Kathy Moore retires after 43 years of dedicated service to the state
Kathy Moore, MSN, RN, has been an esteemed member of the Carolina Nursing community for over 25 years, having served in various roles before becoming Assistant Dean for Student Affairs in 2013. During her tenure, she has demonstrated a steadfast commitment to the School of Nursing, which is rooted in her deep appreciation for the education and opportunities she received as a former UNC School of Nursing student.

Carolina Nursing's New Nursing Education Building
The construction project to replace the west wing of Carrington Hall with a state-of-the-art Nursing Education Building is officially underway. We’re excited to announce that we will host a Groundbreaking Ceremony for the new facility this fall — and you’re all invited! We will share more event details in the coming months and hope you will consider joining us on campus or tuning in virtually on Thursday, October 24 at 5:00 p.m.

Carolina Nursing Senior Class Campaign
Hello Carolina Alumni! We're excited to announce the Carolina Nursing Senior Class Campaign! Each year, the graduating BSN and ABSN classes leave their mark on Carolina by giving back to the School of Nursing. This year, the Class of 2024 has chosen to provide scholarships to recognize outstanding students who demonstrate leadership and advocacy within the nursing profession, among their peers, and towards their patients.
We aim to raise a minimum of $2,000 for this scholarship, allowing us to award $1,000 to both a graduating BSN and ABSN student. However, with your generous support, we can exceed this goal and provide even more scholarship funding!
