Carolyn Otte’s Retirement Celebration

We will be recognizing Carolyn's retirement from nearly 40 years of service in the ministry (including almost 30 years at St. John’s/Renewal) on Sunday, May 22 after both the 8am and 9:45am services in the St. John’s Community Room. During her tenure, Carolyn served in numerous roles including as a Teacher, Coach, Administrator and most recently as the Executive Director of Ministries here at St John’s/Renewal. Through her extraordinary gifts of community, leadership, creativity and action, she impacted hundreds of students and thousands of believers within all the communities she has served. In each role, Carolyn led with real humanity, authenticity and heart.

We encourage folks to bring a personal handwritten note, letter, card, or fun photo for Carolyn to enjoy. A basket/decorative receptacle will be available to collect these items at the reception. In addition, if you cannot attend but would like to send a note, please place it in Anne Purvis' mailbox in the church hallway or mail it Anne’s attention at St John’s Denver, 700 S. Franklin St., Denver, CO 80209.

Please note we will also be playing a video montage loop during the event. We would welcome our extended St John’s/Renewal community to participate as well. Please consider sending a 3-sentence video (using your phone) to be included in the montage. See instructions on the next page with all the specifics on what to include in the video, deadlines, instructions etc. It’s a fun idea and we hope you will join in.

HELPFUL HINTS FOR RECORDING YOUR VIDEO: 

1. Please hold your phone a minimum of a foot from your face, ideally I can see from your mid chest to the top of your head.

2. Please hold your phone in portrait mode (straight up and down not on its side) unless you are recording a video with more than one person in it, then please use landscape mode (the phone on its side).

3. Please make sure you record your video in a place that has enough light that we can clearly see your face but also not directly in front of a window or something so bright that it turns your skin 6 shades brighter than it normally is.
