Carrie Masters Starts and Amanda Gatti Recognized at Annual OWBA/OWBF Meeting
COLUMBUS, OH - Reminger Co., LPA is pleased to announce that Carrie Masters Starts has been named the recipient of the "2015 OWBA President's Choice Award". In addition, Amanda M. Gatti has been named to the Board of the Ohio Women's Bar Foundation (OWBF) as an At-Large Trustee. Both were acknowledged at the OWBA/OWBF Annual Meeting luncheon held on May 21st in Columbus, Ohio.
The Ohio Women's Bar Association (OWBA) was formed in 1991 in order to build a community of lawyers who are interested in the issues that uniquely affect women. The Ohio Women's Bar Foundation (OWBF) was formed in 2008 as the educational and charitable arm of the OWBA. The Foundation's mission is to accelerate the advancement of women lawyers as leaders in the profession and to facilitate their service to the community.
Carrie focuses her legal practice in the areas of general liability, premises liability, medical and non-medical professional liability, insurance coverage and employment law.
Carrie graduated magna cum laude from Northern Kentucky University in 2003. She then worked for Fidelity Investments until beginning law school in 2005. She obtained her Juris Doctorate Degree from Chase College of Law in 2008. While attending Chase she was selected for the National Trial Advocacy Team and also won first place and best brief at the Albert R. Mugel National Tax Moot Court Competition in 2007.
Since joining Reminger in 2008, Carrie has litigated cases in state and federal court and has experience handling all aspects of litigation, including pre-suit investigation, pleadings, discovery, motion
practice, trial preparation and trial. She has tried cases in state and federal court. She has also briefed and argued cases on appeal in Ohio, Kentucky and the Sixth Circui
t Court of Appeals. In addition, Carrie has defended professionals and financial institutions in administrative proceedings in Ohio and Kentucky.
Carrie is a member of various bar associations. She currently serves on the Board of Trustees of the Ohio Women's Bar Association and was elected to the Supreme Court Judicial Ratings Committee. In addition to her practice, Carrie currently coaches the Trial Advocacy team at Chase College of Law.
Amanda practices in Reminger's Cleveland office, where she focuses her legal practice in various areas of law, including medical malpractice, dental liability, professional liability, general liability and intellectual property. She has experience handling all aspects of litigation, including pleadings, motion practice, discovery, trial preparation and trial. She has also developed a practice in trademark application, renewal, revival, and consultation.
Amanda is a member of a number of professional organizations, including the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association, the Ohio Women's Bar Association, the Catholic Lawyer's Guild of Cleveland, the Justinian Forum, and as a Partner in Justice with the Legal Aid Society of Cleveland. She also is the current legal advisor to the Brecksville Broadview Heights High School Mock Trial Team.
