Jury finds Trump liable for battery and defamation



The jury answered yes to the question of sexual abuse which was defined as sexual contact without consent, using compulsion for the purpose of Trump's gratification. That means he is liable for battery.


The jury answered yes to defamation because Trump made false statements with actual malice when he called her allegations a con and a scam.


"Today, the world finally knows the truth. This is a victory not just for me but for every woman who has suffered because she was not believed." Carroll said in a statement.

NEW YORK - A federal jury has found former President Donald Trump liable for battery and defamation in the lawsuit brought by writer E. Jean Carroll, who says he raped her in a Manhattan department store in the mid-1990s. The nine jurors, who deliberated for barely three hours before reaching their unanimous conclusion, did not find that Trump raped Carroll.

War zones result in high levels of gender-based violence against women and girls around the world. A panel moderated by Cheryl Thomas, executive director of Global Rights for Women, addresses gender-based violence in Ethiopia, Haiti, Ukraine and Latvia.
