INTERIM MINISTRY EVENTS
Rev. Frieda and the Transition Team will be hosting three Healing Circles in November. All will be held in our Sanctuary: Nov. 4 @ noon, Nov. 11 @ 4 pm, & Nov. 18 @ noon.

What is a healing circle? An opportunity facilitated by Rev. Frieda or a Transition team member to join in a small group style process and share feelings you may have about change at First U. The process is designed to be confidential and safe. All thoughts and feelings will be welcome and respected. Active listening will be as important as sharing.

Why now at First U? Change can trigger a wide range of reactions - everything from hurt and disappointment to grief and loss. You may feel happy or sad about losing Rev. Jennifer. You may feel abandoned or unsupported by fellow congregants. Maybe you are incredibly grateful to be a part of this community. This Interim Ministry period is a chance to be honest, loving and supportive with each other, a chance to create a clean slate as we begin to explore our potential for the future.

Who is invited? Anyone who is or wants to be a part of the First U community. We aspire to be good ministers to each other. This process can help us learn to be better at it.

Look for sign up sheets in the Gathering Room or contact a member of the team. Parents--if childcare is needed, please email a member of the team so that it will be provided.

LET'S RE-COMMIT TO OUR PREBLE STREET PARTNERSHIP
With a new church year underway, it's a good time to remember the folks at the Preble St. Resource Center, where up to 400 people are served 3 meals a day, every day of the year. Our church has been sending volunteers to help for nearly 8 years! New volunteers will be gladly welcomed. We are committed to filling at least 6 slots on the first Tuesday of every month. Our next date is Tuesday, November 6. Joining together, we have a chance to make new friends, and to deepen our commitment to UU values.

The job does not include bringing food, but helping to prepare and serve it. We report for duty at 3:30 and stay till 6:30. You are encouraged to commit to the entire 3 hours, but there is some flexibility for those who must come late or leave early. To volunteer, find the lists in the Gathering Room and look for empty spaces or contact Phyllis Chinlund at pchinlund@gmail.com. Once you sign up you will receive detailed information by email.
GET OUT THE VOTE
Voting happens on Tuesday, November 6! Be sure you are registered to vote and urge others to register. UUs cherish our right and responsibility to vote as an article of our faith: our Fifth Principle is "the right of conscience and the use of the democratic process in our congregations and at large."

Need a ride? The Faith in Action Council is offering rides to the polls for our First U members needing transportation. These rides on election day, November 6, will be in Falmouth, Cumberland and Yarmouth. If you are interested, contact Sue Ellen Bordwell, sebordwell@gmail.com or call 207-650-3858. Sue Ellen will contact the FIA drivers, who will contact you to set up a pick-up time.
FROM THE CHURCH OFFICE
