North Texas Giving Day is 9-22-22

North Texas Giving Day is an annual online giving event designed to empower every person to give back to their community by supporting local nonprofits and causes they care about using one easy-to-use platform. North Texas Giving Day is the largest community-wide giving event in the nation and builds awareness and support for nonprofits. The average nonprofit raises $19,608, but we are not the ‘average’ nonprofit. So, we are setting our goal to be $25,000. Please help us achieve that by creating a fundraising page that you can send out to your network or contact us for a yard sign. Thank you for your support!

Expanding The Village: Houston ISD

Thanks to our partnership with Katherine Smith, Executive Director of the HISD foundation and her staff, Carson’s Village is providing education and support to the Houston Independent School District’s students, families, and staff. By providing valuable resources to those who have experienced sudden loss and need a village of support; we are that village.

Carson’s Village has assigned an Advocate, Michelle, to the Houston ISD to assist referred families with making final arrangements, resource referral, and grief and bereavement support. Michelle has also been collaborating with various departments within the district, including the Social Work, Social and Emotional Learning, Crisis and Behavioral Intervention, Wraparound, and the Family and Community Engagement departments to educate and inform the faculty and staff of Houston ISD how Carson’s Village can benefit the school district and its stakeholders.  Additionally, we have created a customized landing webpage with resources specifically designed for HISD that can be accessed by HISD employees.

Carson’s Village is eager to continue to support the students, faculty, and staff in the 2022-2023 school year, further cultivate relationships with each campus and department, and be the necessary Village for the Houston ISD community.

P2P Program Launched!

Our unique P2P program has begun and our first Peer and Villager have been matched! Our Peers are our families who are currently suffering from a loss. Our Villagers are our volunteers who have already experienced a loss and can support and mentor Peers who are actively grieving. If you need the support of a trained Villager, please contact us so we can get you the help you need. If you are interested in becoming a Villager, click here for more information. This experience is transformational for both our Peers and our Villagers.
