We are experiencing exciting change! The esteemed New York real estate company Douglas Elliman has purchased Teles Properties and we begin merging our philosophies, our networks, our talent and our resources. The Douglas Elliman resources are vast. For me, this is a Homecoming as I was a Douglas Elliman agent in Manhattan before moving to California. I am thrilled and proud!
Although Douglas Elliman has a 100 year success track in New York, when they migrated west to Beverly Hills, they admittedly learned the lesson other easterners learn --- California isn’t as “laid back” as they thought. Our business market is not an easy capture for outsiders. Californians work more than the rest of the World thinks. Sure – we play hard too, under palm trees with Ocean breeze in our faces or on mountain trails overlooking an endless array of skyscrapers and views.
Teles attracted Douglas Elliman because of our success record in a city tougher to succeed than expected. We built offices in key Southern Californian locations and made a profit when other boutique companies could not. We built “lean”... not flashy. We built relationships of trust with our agents and with clients, colleagues and industry peers.
Now, we are opening our new Malibu office and preparing to open our new San Francisco office this autumn. We have grown from 550 agents to over 7,000. We have doubled our international reach in partnership with Europe’s well known Knight Frank real estate conglomerate.
