CARVER VOICES - JANUARY

MEET KEILLY MONCADA, CARVER'S SCHOLAR ADVISOR

Keilly provides our Teen Center members with individual college and career coaching sessions. She schedules workshops throughout the school year about the college application process and how to apply for scholarships. She also assists families with FAFSA applications. Keilly also helps our teens find employment, including jobs through our new youth employment programs.

HEALTHY MINDS, HEALTHY LIVES

Members from RyeACT, a coalition of local organizations and individuals committed to promoting long-term health and wellness for children and teens, visited Carver Center to provide staff members with mental health training. The course covered the common signs and symptoms of mental health challenges that are affecting our youth. Keeping our staff up-to-date on best practices is paramount to our mission to provide the best in youth development programming. Our thanks to Greenwich Hospital for funding this important event.

AND THE OSCAR GOES TO...

Carver's Teen program is partnering with the Pelham Picture House to make a documentary! Staff members from The Picture House are at Carver on Thursdays to instruct the teens about the intricacies of filmmaking. At the end of the program, the teens will showcase their documentary about the Carver Center.
