CASA of McHenry County Advocate Informational Meetings

The Illinois Juvenile Court Act states that all children in abuse and neglect court in Illinois shall be appointed a CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate). CASA volunteers are assigned to a single case involving children who have suffered abuse or neglect. The volunteer gets to know the child and advocates for the child’s needs through a report to the juvenile court. CASA volunteers give a voice to abused and neglected children by being a consistent, stable adult in the child’s life and by providing the court with needed information regarding the child’s well-being.

150 CASA volunteers currently serve more than 200 children in McHenry County’s juvenile court system.

CASA of McHenry County conducts quarterly trainings for new Advocates. To fill these sessions, CASA is hosting informational meetings about the volunteer role of a CASA. Virtual information sessions will take place on:

  • Wednesday, March 22, 7:00-7:45PM, virtual via Zoom
  • Thursday, April 13, 7:00-7:45PM, virtual via Zoom
