Casa México TO PLACE MEXICAN CULTURE, INNOVATION IN THE SPOTLIGHT AT SXSW 2019
We are pleased to announce that for the fourth consecutive year, Casa México will open its doors during
South by Southwest
(SXSW), the internationally recognized festival focused on creative industries, innovation, technology and entrepreneurship, hosting film screenings, discussions, and more to highlight the rich creative and innovative culture of Mexico. For more than three decades, SXSW has brought together entrepreneurs, artists and opinion leaders from around the world in the city of Austin, Texas.
Through these events, Casa México will showcase Mexico’s status as a global leader in technology, entrepreneurship and innovation, as well as a modern country with a vast and diverse culture and traditions. Casa México will offer free activities and events for the general public including discussion forums and conferences on technology, entrepreneurship and socio-political issues; cultural exhibitions; concerts by emerging Mexican artists; film screenings; tastings of Mexican spirits, and more, including events hosted in partnership with organizations such as the Friends of the National Museum of the American Latino, the March on Washington Film Festival, and The Raben Group.
Additionally, Casa México seeks to facilitate the promotion and international growth of new Mexican companies, and strengthen relations between Texas and Mexico. One of the most ambitious projects at Casa México is the traditional international pitch competition, in which 10 new Mexican startups and entrepreneurs were selected to participate after a national call for applications. This event will take place on March 7
at Huston-Tillotson University, co-organized by International Accelerators and Silicon Labs.
