Of course, a big savings always gets the attention of ownership / management and in this case the comment was made to the procurement organization that they should develop a list of other custom products that are being bought domestically to see how much can be saved by using ASC Global Sourcing Services which is how the coil opportunity came to be. It gains even more momentum when the product being supplied arrives on time and is of the quality they were expecting and meets their technical requirements. Everyone takes notice as it seems too good to be true having purchased from the incumbent for so many years knowing how much savings went out the window during that period.
Now to be honest, we cannot expect to win everything we quote for a customer, but it doesn't hurt to find out if a savings is available or not by just being open-minded and now complacent with existing suppliers.
