AGCVT Recognizes Casella Construction
2022 Best Builder Award
In addition to its Annual Meeting, AGCVT also held its Annual Awards Ceremony last night, and recognized Casella Construction with a 2022 Best Builder award for Specialty Construction: Heavy Industrial Demolition for our work on the Moran Frame.
Thank you to the entire team who worked on this project. The mass demolition of this 94,000 sf building garnered a lot of state-wide attention. Our work required strategic, sequenced planning in conjunction with a variety of complex elements, all of which were expertly executed. Great work everyone, on this project that was challenging but rewarding!
Receiving the award, from left to right: David Edwards, Nicole Webster, Kyle Cornell, Charlie Wadleigh, John Casella II with Richard Wobby, EVP of AGCVT
This project was in the news again recently, as Burlington Mayor Weinberger celebrated the opening of the Moran Frame, following 30 years of stalled efforts to reimagine the site of the long-abandoned former coal plant.

Bridgewater Project
Wastewater System Improvements
Photos by Chris Rozell
This project involved removing the Rotating Biological Contacter (RBC) through the roof of the Wastewater Treatment Facility to make room for the new one.
The RBC consists of a series of rotating discs. These discs are coated with a biological slime like the slime on rocks in a healthy stream. This slime is rotated through the air and then through the wastewater so that it picks up oxygen in the air and breaks down organic material. So, because the discs rotate through the air, there is no need to pump air into the wastewater.
The building the RBC came out of (resting in the slots). Clockwise from left: James Cain, Chris Rozell, Josh LeClaire.
Winter Weather Slip & Falls
Slippery surfaces from ice and snow can lead to a variety of injuries ranging from a simple bruised elbow to something extremely serious. These are just a couple of conditions that set the stage for slips and trips at the job. Falls are the second-leading cause of fatalities, behind motor vehicle accidents.
Can you answer a question related to this week's safety discussion?
Falls account for what percentage of accidental deaths per year?

10%
15%
