Meet the new face behind Friday Olive Extracts

Hi there - what better way to kick off 2025 than by joining the Australian Olive Association team!

I'm Laura Thomas, a media and communications specialist based in country SA. I began my career as a newspaper journalist and photographer, before moving into communications where I have worked across the government, corporate and regional business sectors, mostly in the areas of forestry, agriculture and tourism. I live in Mount Gambier with my husband and children, where we run a business and help out on the family cattle farm in nearby Victoria.

I'm looking forward to bringing you the latest from the olive world each Friday, so if you have a news tip, are thinking about advertising or have some feedback to give, I'd love to hear from you.

Increased consumer awareness to drive global olive market expansion

A key driver behind the olive market's growth is the increasing consumer awareness regarding health benefits associated with olives and olive oil.
