Coach Spotlight:

Eboni Harris

Eboni Harris joined the Mercer coaching staff in the fall of 2023. She came to one of the summer "On Mondays We Row" barge sessions and it was quickly apparent that Eboni knew how to row. When we learned she had coached before, it was not long before she was officially on the Mercer coaching staff! Read more about Coach Eboni here:

How did you get involved in rowing?

I began rowing in an 8 during my freshman year of high school, on the Schuylkill River as a member of Philadelphia City Rowing.

What is your favorite part about rowing?

I love being on the water. No matter the workout I am always happy to be out in nature doing something I enjoy.

What Mercer programs are you involved with?

I coach the middle school Stem to Stern program, and as an assistant to the Mercer Novice Boys team.

Do you have a favorite workout (either as an athlete or coach)?

As a coach my favorite workout is the cut the cake drill but as an athlete my favorite workout is a 2K.

What is the greatest lesson rowing has taught you?

Rowing has taught me the importance of doing something you are passionate about. Even if it’s a few hours a week or for a season, making time to take care of your health.

Anything else you’d like to share?

My dog/son Banks loves visiting the boathouse and he had his first boat ride this season!
