Capital City Rowing League Welcomes Two More Schools into the Program!

We are excited to announce that Grant Intermediate School and Holland Middle School have officially joined the Capital City Rowing League family!

Both schools kicked off their rowing journey in a big way. School-wide assembly presentations captivated students, generating tremendous enthusiasm and interest in the sport. It was wonderful to see so many young athletes eager to pick up an oar and hit the water.

Adding to the excitement, brand-new ergometers have been donated to each school, giving students the opportunity to begin building their skills and fitness right in their own gyms.

These ergs are more than equipment — they are the first stroke of what we know will be a lasting love for rowing.

Here's to many great races ahead — welcome to the league! 🚣

Expansion News

Construction Update — Spring is Here and We Are Building!

Great news — the lake has finally thawed, and the energy around Mercer Lake is picking up fast. Here is the latest on our building project as we head into an exciting season of progress:

🚧 Fencing is Up. Fencing around the new building site has been placed, marking a visible and exciting milestone for the project.

🚗 Please Drive Slowly on the Service Road. As construction ramps up, vehicles will be departing the site around the same time athletes are arriving. Please reduce your speed on the service road and stay alert to keep everyone safe.

🔧 Plumbing and Foundation work is beginning. On March 23, the plumbers and work on the footings and foundations will begin. This will be the next step in the construction project.

🌱 New Grass Seed is Taking Root. The new grass is coming in — please help it along by staying out of the muddy areas and off the newly seeded ground.

🚣 Racks are Back, But Watch Your Step. The racks have been reinstalled, however they remain in a muddy area. Please be mindful not to track mud into the workout room.

🏗️ Walls Going Up in April. Construction on the walls begins this month, and we are on track for the new building to be fully complete by the end of October. We cannot wait!

❤️ Support the Building Fund. There is still time to make your mark to this incredible project. There are still spaces to be named and recognitions to be made. Donors (individuals or groups) will be recognized at the $10k, $25k, and $50k levels. If you are interested in helping to build the future of American rowing, please reach out to Executive Director Kris Grudt. There are still naming opportunities available.
