International Anti-Corruption Day

Saturday, December 9 was International Anti-Corruption Day (IACD). We continue to call for the immediate and unconditional release of Gubad Ibadoghlu, a prominent anti-corruption researcher unjustly detained in Azerbaijan for his brave work.

Fighting corruption is not a crime.

Please share, and use the hashtag #freegubad to raise awareness of his case.

Azerbaijan continues its abuse and suppression of human rights with the detention of Dr. Ibadoghlu and the recent arrests of journalists from Abzas Media.

Yet, influential companies in Azerbaijan, like TotalEnergies and Equinor, are silent in this crisis.

Our latest blog entry, “Profits Over People: TotalEnergies and Equinor are Silent about the Arrest and Torture of Dr. Gubad Ibadoghlu,” explores the financial investments in Azerbaijan from these Western companies and their human rights obligations.
