Our society is in need of a tech-savvy volunteer with basic HTML knowledge to help keep our digital hub running smoothly. This vital role includes updating our website with meeting information and resources, setting up Zoom links for our virtual events, and assisting with membership contact management. We will cover some of the new Tech that FamilySearch has added to their website in 2025.

1. AI Research Assistant and how to use it to find more ancestors.

2. Cover very briefly the Home page, so that you are familiar with options that are available.

3. Go to FamilySearch Labs, View Experiments, to try out the 8 different experiments that are listed.

These are:

• Improved England Jurisdictions 1851
• Improved Merge Experience
• Improved Person Change Log
• Grow Your Tree with AI Research Assistant
• Ask a Help Chatbot
• User Owned Tree Feature (CETs)
• Expand your search with Full Text
• AI-enhanced Help Center Searches

Some of these we will touch briefly on, while others seem to be more useful to the active researcher.

Have you heard about Ancestry’s new Pro Tools? For an additional fee per month, you can access some new tools to enhance your work with your family tree. Tree checker can help you locate errors in your tree. Many new smart filters can help you sort your tree by family line and other exciting ways. Other tools such as charts and reports, tree mapper, tree insights, and fan chart settings will be explored.
