2019 MAD (MAKE A DIFFERENCE) WEEK CONTINUES...
BACKPACK DRIVE:
Last year for MAD Week, CVHS paired with an organization called Sox Place that helps provide resources for homeless teens and young adults in Denver. We are continuing our partnership with them this school year. They have let us know they have a current need for more backpacks. We would really appreciate it if students and parents would donate new or used backpacks to help out this great organization.
Backpacks can be brought in during school hours and placed in bins located outside the library, outside the student government room (7200) and by the office.
The drive with run until Friday, August 30th.

STUDENTS GOING TO GHANA, AFRICA: BUILDING CARE PACKAGES
A teacher and coach here at Castle View (Ben Wolfe) could use your help. He is taking students to Ghana, Africa for the 4th straight year during fall break. They are creating care packages to give to the kids they will be working with through Challenging Heights. (CH is an organization that rescues kids (sadly, as young as 5 years old to 18 years old) from trafficking and rehabilitates them at their own center.) In preparation for their trip, Mr. Wolfe and his students would love to get as many shoe boxes/care packages filled by September 20th. They appreciate your support and so does all the children you will be bringing a smile to. :)
Email  BEN WOLFE with any questions or to coordinate drop off.

HEALTH NOTES FROM DCSD NURSES
Below are two great links centered around important health information: from our CV School Nurse.

USAGAIN DRIVE
USagain is an organization that donates it's collections to developing countries in need. Through the donations we will be saving clothing from landfills, reducing carbon emissions, planting trees and giving to those in need. Additionally, this is an incredible opportunity for Castle View to receive funding as we receive money based on the amount of pounds donated. The donation bin is located in the upper visitor's parking lot and any donations would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your time in reading this important Castle View Newsletter.  Have a great week Sabercats.

Sincerely,

Karin Wessbecker
