Dear Castle View Families,
Here at CV, we are busy with all that encompasses our traditional MAD WEEK; bringing our school and community together to support and raise money for a good cause. Please view the below section with ALL the details, schedule and donation link. Together, we can MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
This is definitely a long newsletter but it is packed with a lot of new information including a new quarterly link from our DCSD health nurses.
Lastly, spring is right around the corner therefore, so is spring cleaning. There are a lot of donation opportunities going on right now whether it is for our MAD Week charity, for USagain or the Pine Ridge Native American Reservation opportunity. All of the details on each of these are below and anything you can give is EXTREMELY appreciated.

DCSD'S STRATEGIC PLAN
The district is ready to start creating it's road map for the next 3 - 5 years and they would love to hear from you. Please consider coming to one of the community conversations where you can provide insight and input into this important plan.  CLICK HERE for the schedule.

USAGAIN DRIVE
5 students from Mrs. Dallman's AP Environmental Science class are collecting clothing donations through USagain. USagain is an organization that donates it's collections to developing countries in need. Through the donations we will be saving clothing from landfills, reducing carbon emissions, planting trees and giving to those in need. Additionally, this is an incredible opportunity for Castle View to receive funding as we receive money based on the amount of pounds donated. The donation bin is located in the upper visitor's parking lot and any donations would be greatly appreciated.

EMERGENCY FOOD DRIVE FOR PINE RIDGE NATIVE AMERICAN RESERVATION
Have you or someone you love ever been hungry and/or cold for an extended period of time? Imagine that you don't have food to feed your family or the materials to keep them warm and safe during the frigid winter months.
Due to their situation, the weather conditions and the recent government shutdown, the members of the Pine Ridge Native American Reservation (6 hours away in South Dakota) are in desperate need and Castle View is doing an emergency food and supply drive. If you would like to donate to the people at Pine Ridge, you can bring donations to the school. Canned or boxed food, baby food, infant formula, diapers, basic supplies and dog food are just some examples of what they need. There is a drop box by the front office. You could also send them to Jenny Dallman in room 5200 or contact her at [email protected] with any questions. Thank you for your generosity and support.
