| It's still not too late to List Your Boat
NOW for Summer!

Pier 5 and other Slips up to 70' and multihull slips available at our office | Little Yacht Sales is always actively seeking quality listings both Power and Sail. Our Marketing plan is unique and more focused with more online advertising and better prepared listing information as well as monthly feedback than anyone. We can list and sell your boat from any location, locally as well as worldwide. Our Year to Date sales show that our marketing plan works.
We have totally filled Pier 5 at Waterford and as boats sell, slips are being filled with new listings. We also are now starting to use pier 4. Piers 4-5 are more in the open brokerage area where people walk the docks quite a bit. Pier 5 especially has a lot of traffic as it's on the bulkhead pathway that everyone walks daily. We also have slips on Piers 6/7 right here at our office for boats up to 70'. Pier 6/7 are exceptional as they offer close access to our brokerage clients but at the same time offer our sellers a distinct level of privacy to still enjoy their boats. Of course you don't have to move your boat to our brokerage pier for us to sell it. We have boats listed on nearly every dock in Waterford as well as every marina in the Clear Lake area, South Texas and as far away as Missouri, Florida, Myrtle Beach and the Bahamas.
Slips are available at our office for boats up to 70 feet. Please call 281-334-6500 or email for your free market analysis. |

Greetings!
We are pleased to announce that LYS has been appointed the new Catalina Dealer for the Texas Coast! Most of you know that Josh and Kent were previously Catalina Dealers, and they are vastly familiar with the Catalina product line and already know how to "Service What We Sell." Now the LYS team of Kent, Josh and Capt's John Brown, Rick Weiler and Jerry Webb will make up the best sales team to represent Catalina Yachts in the state. We have on order a new Catalina 355 (which has not yet been seen on the Texas Coast yet) for a late July delivery and a new Catalina 445 is on order for early Fall delivery.
This is yet again a new direction for LYS and although we are already the Sailboat brokerage leader in Texas for 2011* this will further establish our leadership on the Texas Coast for Used and now New Yacht Sales. We could not do it without you, so we welcome your comments, questions or suggestions at Info@LittleYachtSales.com regarding the Catalina Line or anything else you would like to tell us.
To celebrate our New Catalina Dealership we would like to invite you to an open house on Saturday June 25th from 3pm to 6pm. We'll have our brokerage yachts open for viewing and of course, adult beverages and snacks will be served. If you want to come by dingy we do have spaces next to the office where you can tie up. If you can make it, please RSVP at this LINK.
We would also like to bring to your attention that this weekend you still have time to take advantage of a great fundraiser for the residents of Oak Island (at the mouth of one of our favorite cruising destinations, Double Bayou) who are still recovering from Hurricane Ike. Click here to go to that section in the newsletter. If you have not been over to Double Bayou lately, there are slips there now. You can reserve your slip and take part in the fundraiser by contacting the Oak Island Market at 409-252-3474 and tell them it's for the CCF (Community Christian Fellowship Church) Fund Raiser.
Also read our boating tip this month on batteries at this link.
Thanks for your continued support. We are looking forward to a busy summer!

Kent and Liz Little

Premium Yacht Listings Accurately Represented
Our listing database continues to grow and is above 80 now. We are adding 10-15 listings a month (16 just in the last month see below) and of course selling boats monthly as well. We understand what our clients want and need. We use more creative marketing tools than any other brokerage in Clear Lake. Just look at the newsletter that you are reading as just one of our marketing tools to get your boat out to a select group of boat buyers. Also look at the brokerage or location where your boat will be represented. Is it all floating, new docks, 24 hour security and most of all will it get seen by qualified buyers? Our location at Waterford Harbor has all this and more.
Do you know what this is?
|

| | This is the newest way to sell your boat! |
This is a QR code and it's our newest way to represent our listings and sell more boats. You probably have the application already on your phone or you can easily download a free app. Just search for QR reader and download the app. Once you have it, take a picture of the QR code above and it will take you to the full listing of our 2003 Beneteau 473 featured in the photo above. We are going to start using QR codes on all our listings on the dock because most people have a smart phone now and they can get the full details of every listing with one click. The QR code reader even saves the websites you visit so you can go back later and look at it. Once again this is innovative marketing that you will only find at LYS. Another good reason why LYS should be your broker when you're ready to sell.
We list and sell Power, Sail, Modern, Classic or Traditional and Race Boats as well. We also have dock space for up to 70' right at our office! To see a list of the boats LYS has sold over the past 15+ years click this LINK.

Reintroducing Catalina Yachts to the Texas Coast
| | The Catalina 375 salon is open, airy and spacious |
Our Goal at LYS is to become the best new boat dealer and represent not only the interest of our new Catalina Owners but all the current and previous Catalina Owners as well. If you have a Catalina Yacht, we want to hear from you. Email us HERE and tell us what you have.
| | The all new Catalina 355 Arriving This Summer to LYS | Our First New Catalina to Arrive will be the All New 355 of which we inspected in detail at the Annapolis Show last fall. This new model is following in the footsteps of the 445 (which has been the most popular boat of it's size sold in the US in the last year with over 60+ hulls sold) and it fits the mid 30's market perfectly. More like the size of a 37-38' the 355 will make your desire for something not too big but with all the space and amenities a reality. The base price starts at $168,809 and with options like electric winches, bow thruster and furling assymetricals, we can build her any way you want. Call 281-334-6500 or email us to talk about our "FIRST BOAT SPECIAL."

Our Catalina 445 arrives late this summer. Order now, get with your options and save $$ |
Having already sold two of the Catalina 445 I can tell you this is the Queen of the Catalina Fleet. Over 60 hulls sold in less than two years has made this the most popular mid 40 footer in the US. The boat is phenomenal with it's Flex Cabin layout and all centerline queen berths. Truly capable of being handled by a couple for world voyaging. We have an owners boat here we can show you by appointment. Base price starts at $273,730. Save a ton now if you want to order now. Call us at 281-334-6500 or
EMAIL us for more info.
Also, don't forget Catalina has other models as well - the Catalina 309 and the 470 are both very popular. Please let us know which model you would like to discuss with us. |

Captain's Maintenance Tip of the Month
Maintaining your batteries.
Shot and over charged batteries are one of the biggest issues we see on surveying used boats.
It's now Summer and if you have wet cell batteries your biggest battery issue will be keeping enough distilled water in them if you are leaving your battery charger on. Most chargers, even the ones that claim they are smart, tend to not shut off and on as often as they should and consequently are charging the batteries all the time. Even if the boat has good chargers that do shut off, there is still no excuse to not check the battery fluid level because they do naturally gas off and the water level drops. Hot summer days also increase this activity.
Make sure you are checking fluid levels in the batteries at least once a month in the summer because they can get low. Only use distilled water and if the fluid level gets down to below the plates that you can see inside, in our experience, you have just killed your battery. It might come back up to charge but you've shorted its life and you should replace it with an exact like size.
Truly the best idea for batteries are AGM's which require no water and very little maintenance just make sure if you swap out the batteries that your charger can handle charging AGMS because it is a different charge rate.
If you have any other questions regarding batteries or any other issues with your boat or if you have a great tip we could share with others, just send us an email to Info@LittleYachtSales.com or call us at 281-334-6500.

Note: We are working on having a DJ play music for all y'all after the fund raiser is finished. I talked with Eric Kellen who is another sail boater who plans to attend and this was his request and he also said the boaters could get together and pay for the DJ.
More info from fellow boater Eric Kellen who brought this event to our attention. In case you don't already know, the brand new slips at Oak Island are really nice. They have power and water, and the slips are about 9-10 feet deep. There are several slips about 40-45 feet long, and others that are smaller. I think there are 22 slips altogether. The Oak Island Market mentioned below is only about a 2 minutes walk from the slips with food, drinks, gas, and diesel. There are also some smaller slips there. The Marker 17 Grill is about 5 minutes' walk away with a few additional slips. Oak Island is a real destination now.
As for the approach, the channel gets narrow near the Bayou entrance but there is still 8-10 feet of water in the channel. The trick is to hug the reds (stay within a boat length of them) going in and out. The greens are extremely shallow since Ike.
I highly recommend going, both to give the Oak Islanders a hand and to have a great overnight experience.
The DJ mentioned for the evening is for the benefit of us visitors; all of us must pitch in to get him paid.
Please pass this along to anyone else that might be interested. I'd like to see all the slips full!
Capt Eric Kellen
