Market Updates:
  • Atlantic Salmon: Overall prices have been lowering across all markets, however do not expect it to last long, as there is a shortage in Chile. With Chile being the major supplier, the predictions are that the prices will return to the recent highs.
  • Wild Salmon prices have lowered as with the additional openings.
  • Wild Striped Bass season in Massachusetts opened today! Landings have been limited overall in other areas, so we are hoping for more product with this opening.
  • Swordfish is at a great price and we have been seeing strong landings through the week.
  • Mahi landings have been small which means prices are increasing.
  • Atlantic Halibut is at a great price, and quantities are high.
  • Lake fish availability this week is great.
  • Icelandic supplies have been limited as expected this time of year.
  • The large scallop prices continue to increase and the majority of landings are smaller sized.
  • The crab market continues to be crazy with changes happening every day. The fresh market is limited, as catch has not been great. The pasteurized market is not great as well. Indonesia blue swimming crab is extremely limited and relief is not expected until late summer. The China market is limited as well with a new season starting in August. Hopefully we will see some relief at that point. Soft Shells are expensive, and limited.
  • Demand is high on lobster, which means inventory is extremely low. Industry pressure is at record levels.
