In the Atlantic, Wild Striped Bass is a well managed fishery where the coastal states work within strict quota limits and regulations. Because of the regulations in place, wild striped bass is not always available so enjoy this beautiful fish while you can! Fillets have a firm meat that cooks up meaty and flaky, with a full, rich flavor. Striped Bass is extremely versatile and takes well to any cooking method- sear it, sauté it, grill it, roast it, steam it or stuff it! Take your pick. We suggest leaving the skin on, as it crisps up nicely and presents itself well when cooked.

- Air shipments have become a challenge lately. The airlines are overwhelmed with passengers and air freight service has suffered. Pacific oysters are on hold until these issues are resolved. Growers aren’t harvesting due to warm temperatures, limited work forces and uncertain logistics. Pacific Oyster shippers aren’t being guaranteed timely travel, so they aren’t taking a chance the shipment will be delayed and the product compromised in the process.
- Atlantic Salmon- New week, same story. Supply is short while demand continues to increase which means prices continue to increase.
- Tuna is short due to the weather in the US- this caused cancelled flights and docked boats.
- Sword is at a great price and should remain though the fall.
- Flounder landings have been great and the prices are starting to fall.
- Halibut prices are strong for both Pacific and Atlantic.
- Same news on lake fish. Increasing prices as supply dwindles.
- The Icelandic cod fishery is experiencing their normal summer challenge's with limited large fish. The fisherman are starting to hit their quotas and will not get new quotas until late August.
- The crabmeat market remains the same- very limited and expensive. Soft shells are pretty much non-existent and the frozen market is very limited.
- The live lobster market continues to increase.
