July Meat Market Update:

It appears there may be a beacon of light at the end of a very long and dark tunnel known as meat prices. As restaurants have begun reopening and with America’s grilling and barbecue season in full swing, pent up demand has upended the beef and pork pricing markets.

Weekly Seafood Market Update:

  • Atlantic Salmon- New week, same story. Supply is short while demand continues to increase which means prices continue to increase.
  • Tuna supply is tight, and continues to tighten as the landings are not keeping up with the demand. There are currently poor fishing conditions due to storms and warm temps.
  • Swordfish supplies are great, and should continue through the fall. Prices are low and product is beautiful!
  • Black Bass landings are great and prices are starting to fall.
  • Flounder prices are unstable.
  • Wild Striped Bass fishing is slow with seasonal closures, quota limits and warmer waters.
  • Bronzini demand is high but prices remain consistent.
  • Monkfish pricing is high due to limited landings.
  • Lake Fish supply is limited, as expected.
  • Live Lobster prices are at a decent level, whereas the crab market is still at a historical high. domestic crabmeat has steady availability, but the pasteurized crab meat prices continue to increase.
  • Pricing continues to rise on larger scallops due to limited availability.
  • Squid prices continue to rise as demand is high.

There’s nothing between the waters where the Spencer Gulf Hiramasa Kingfish are raised and the Antarctic but the icy, vast expanse of the Southern Ocean. Clean Seas Hiramasa are produced from hatchery raised fingerlings and grown in an open ocean, low stress environment. Minimal stocking densities and site fallowing practices delivers a fish which is totally sustainable. Hiramasa have a sweet, rich flavor that is genuinely superior to the wild, with a higher fat content, cleaner flavor and firmed texture.
