Market Updates and Availability

Weekly Seafood Market Update: | |
- Mahi availability has been questionable, and for what has been available, pricing has been extremely high.
- The Halibut supply is better this week compared to weeks past and prices are down.
- We have been seeing a decent supply on Sockeye salmon and some California Troll King salmon. Coho's are now in season as well.
- There are no big changes with the Chilean Salmon market as far as availability and pricing, and the Canadian and European market seems to be trending downward.
- Prices are up quite a bit on Walleye, but will come back down quickly once they start landing more fish. If it stays cool at night, things could get better before the normal September restart of the fishery.
- Sword fishing will improve shortly as the full moon is approaching.
- The tuna market remains consistent- limited fish due to warm temps, limited fisherman, and expensive freight costs.
- Massachusetts is still producing beautiful black bass, and we are looking forward to this weekends Rhode Island opening.
- Product remains pretty limited across the the board for fresh crabmeat. The Maryland and North Carolina markets are low, and gulf production is just a little better however prices are high. Venezuela production is horrible, however we are hoping for improvement in October.
- Pasteurized crabmeat from Indonesia is very limited, however are expecting to see improvements in September due to increased shipping.
- Live Lobster pricing remains strong.
- Scallop market remains consistent.
- Increased demand on King Crab creates some pressure on the market- demand is high and we are seeing record pricing levels.

Beillvaire Chevre aux Flower
Goat Cheese
A favorite from Fontenille, France, Chevre aux Flower is a soft, creamy, rind less cheese coated in dried flowers including rose petals, cornflowers, strawberry flowers and marigolds. This creamy chevre is bright and creamy, with herbal & citrus tones, and notes of fresh herbs and grass. This cheese pairs perfectly with a sauvignon blanc.
