Application for Calvert County Small Business Assistance Grant is NOW OPEN!


As of January 4th, the Calvert County Department of Economic Development is accepting applications for the Calvert County Small Business Assistance Grant. The Small Business Assistance Grant Fund was established to provide financial assistance that will help local small business owners grow and strengthen their existing businesses.


Interested business owners must request an application by visiting www.ChooseCalvert.com/Grant. Applications will be accepted through Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2023. Grant awards are expected to be announced in mid-February.

The FY 2024 Capital and Non Capital Maryland Heritage Area Grant Program Is OPEN


The Maryland Heritage Areas Authority (MHAA) FY 2024 grant materials for capital and non-capital heritage tourism projects are now available, including a newly revised and streamlined application!

 

Capital Grants are available up to $100,000

Non-Capital Grants are available up to $50,000

 

These require a match, but that match does not have to be a cash match. It can be an in-kind match, cash match, or a combination of in-kind and cash match.


Begin the first step in the application process by completing an Intent to Apply form through our online grant portal no later than 11:59 pm on January 31, 2023.

Strategic Planning - ABCs of Setting up your Nonprofit

This course in strategic planning is focused on the essentials of starting a nonprofit organization. Structured as a primer for those who wish to gain an initial understanding of best practices, legal and financial requirements, important documents, and other essential planning tools, this course will enable participants to develop a strong foundation and actionable plan for their new nonprofit. Anyone who has wondered what is involved in starting a nonprofit will find this course a meaningful learning experience. The instructor for this class is Wendy Wolff, Director of Strategic Engagement, Maryland Nonprofits.

Tri-County Council for Southern Maryland announces their 25th Annual Southern Maryland Reception. This event is a cooperative effort with the Calvert, Charles and St. Mary’s Chambers of Commerce, the Southern Maryland Minority Chamber of Commerce, the members of the Southern Maryland Economic Development Association, the Southern Maryland Delegation and the constituents of Southern Maryland.
