This week I was in Congress, working hard for you. Here's the highlights:
No one should feel unsafe because of their religious beliefs or ethnicity. Unfortunately, millions of Uyghurs and other ethnic minority groups are repeatedly silenced, detained, imprisoned, tortured and brainwashed by PRC officials.

I am pleased to share that on Thursday, the Foreign Affairs Committee passed my bill with Congressman Ami Bera to counter these gross human rights abuses and empower the State Department to effectively respond. I will always stand up for human rights.
Happy Hispanic Heritage Month! Until October 15, I will be highlighting outstanding members of the Hispanic Community in CA-39. Be sure to follow me @RepYoungKim to hear their remarkable stories!
I enjoyed catching up with local small business owners and entrepreneurs in Chino Hills at the Chino Valley Chamber of Commerce Business Expo!

Our small business owners continue to adapt, think creatively and innovate each day. I'm proud to have introduced two bipartisan bills, which both passed the House in April, to streamline the SBA's 504 loan program to support small manufacturers.
I had a wonderful time with our La Habra community at the Love La Habra clean up event over the weekend!

My family and I have called La Habra home for decades, and Iā€™m honored to be your Representative in Congress.
Veterans, NGOs, Congressional offices and ordinary citizens who have volunteered on the front lines of saving lives in Afghanistan are heroes who have shown the world why America is exceptional. I was honored to recognize them on the floor of the House of Representatives this week.

As we hear mixed answers from administration officials, Congress must continue exhausting its oversight abilities and holding hearings to learn the truth behind the botched withdrawal from Afghanistan. The American people deserve answers on what U.S. military equipment we left behind and how taxpayer dollars were spent in the region. I won't stop demanding transparency from this administration.
As an immigrant from South Korea, I'm grateful for our Korean War veterans. I was honored to join them to commemorate the 71st anniversary of the recapturing of Seoul from North Korea and honor the sacrifices of General MacArthur and UN forces for their role in the Incheon Landing that made this possible.
Sadly, the majority of us know a wife, mother, sister, friend or neighbor who has fought breast cancer. I am honored to cosponsor the Metastatic Breast Cancer Access to Care Act to ensure Americans facing the most deadly and aggressive form of breast cancer receive the urgent care they require.

This October, let's re-familiarize ourselves with life-saving early detection resources. According to the CDC, women whose breast cancer is detected at an early stage have a 93 percent or higher survival rate in the first five years.
Thursday's continuing resolution funds the government at levels negotiated by the previous administration, avoids a costly government shutdown until December 3, 2021 and delivers much-needed wildfire relief to California.

I voted yes and will keep fighting for a responsible budget that funds vital priorities and ensures American taxpayer dollars are spent efficiently without raising taxes.
In light of rising cyberattacks and an unprecedented number of SBA loan applicants, I joined Rep. Jason Crow to introduce the bipartisan SBA Cyber Awareness Act to boost SBA cybersecurity and ensure our taxpayer dollars go to those who need it most.

I am committed to helping California's 39th District get through the COVID-19 pandemic better than before. As we reopen our communities and get people safely back to work, I will do all that I can to make sure my constituents receive the relief you deserve.
