Chris Walsh was a dear friend, devoted father and husband, and selfless public servant who spent his career giving back to his Southern California community, most recently in my Congressional Office as a field representative for California’s 39th Congressional District.
We are heartbroken he was taken from us too soon, but all of us who had the pleasure of knowing him remain inspired by his courage, persistence and integrity in the face of the worst adversity. I first met Chris in 2014 when he was an intern for Congressman Ed Royce. At age 25, he was diagnosed with terminal cancer and was told he would only live a couple more months. He did not let this news change the course of his life. He worked for the state and local government, met his wife Amanda and had two beautiful girls Amelia and Madeline.
Chris brought out the best in everyone who knew him, and I know I would not be the person I am today without Chris. One of the biggest Angels fans I know, I feel comforted knowing his loved ones have a guardian angel looking over them.
