This week I was in Congress, working hard for you. Here's the highlights:

Thank you to everyone who joined my telephone town hall on Tuesday! It was a pleasure to hear from you. I truly appreciate your participation both in asking questions and answering polls. Hearing your concerns helps me do my job to fight for you in Congress.
If I didn’t get to your question or if you'd like to share a comment or concern, please don’t hesitate to reach out to my office.

As Ranking Member of the Small Business Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Workforce Development Subcommittee, I'm committed to working on policies that help our small businesses continue to be creative and innovate.
Watch our conversation to hear my thoughts on being a small business owner, Congress' role in helping businesses, cybersecurity, budget reconciliation, the impact of trade on small businesses and more.

It was a pleasure to see the Fullerton Arboretum reopen and come together with our Cal State Fullerton community to celebrate the occasion.
For decades, the arboretum has been a pillar of the CSUF campus and of Fullerton, helping visitors gain knowledge and appreciation of the plant world and promoting our agricultural heritage.
As the mother of three Titan graduates, I’m so proud to represent Cal State Fullerton in Congress and know firsthand that Titans reach higher.
I joined Congressman Lou Correa to invite Education Secretary Cardona to come see Cal State Fullerton’s top-tier educational programs, and I requested federal funding for the Titan Gateway, a pedestrian bridge that will protect those walking on campus, reduce vehicle trips and encourage biking and walking. I will always fight for our community in Congress.

On Thursday, Congress came together to support our troops through the bipartisan NDAA, which gives our brave men and women in our nation's uniform a much-needed pay raise and ensures they are equipped to face today’s changing global threats.
I was proud to vote YES on this bill and will always fight for our troops in Congress who fight for us.

I'm proud to represent 27,000 military veterans across California's 39th District and enjoyed visiting with CA-39 veterans, gold star families and local leaders at our recent Veteran’s Roundtable.
We discussed the need for a VA Medical Center and veterans cemetery in Orange County, mental health and veteran suicide, toxic exposure reform, disability and veteran small businesses.
I appreciate Veterans Affairs Committee Ranking Member Rep. Mike Bost for taking the time to join us and look forward to working with him and colleagues across the aisle to deliver results.

|
I join our Fullerton community in celebrating Tommy Lasorda Day. He had an incredible career leading the Los Angeles Dodgers, was kind to all and a beacon of our CA-39 community. I am honored to have been able to get to know him and my heart continues to be with Tommy and Jo's loved ones.

Instead of coming together to pass a responsible continuing resolution, Democrats want to pass a blank check raising the debt limit and allowing for their $3.5 trillion federal spending and tax hike plan.
We must move our country forward, not saddle Americans with debt and more taxes.

|
The U.S. has historically shown overwhelming bipartisan support for our allies in Israel to defend themselves against terrorist rocket attacks.
I’m glad the House came together this week to stand with Israel and support Israel's Iron Dome that has saved countless lives.
|
|
I was glad to join the Hanmi Family Counseling Center's Scholarship Luncheon. I'm grateful their scholarships equip students in need with valuable educational opportunities.
As an immigrant from South Korea, I understand the obstacles that can come with adapting to a new culture, way of life and language. These families are already making positive contributions to our communities, and I know they will be able to pursue their dreams like I did.

This week, my staff and I celebrated Mid-Autumn Festival. We hope that your Mid-Autumn Festival included happiness, time with family and, of course, mooncakes!
昨天,我和我的職員們一起慶祝了中秋節!希望你們的中秋節能同樣充滿幸福歡樂的家庭時光還有美味的月餅!
Tết trung thu!

Happy Chuseok to our Korean American community in CA-39 and across the nation! I hope we could take a moment to give thanks and spend time with loved ones.
모두 즐거운 추석을 맞이하시고 가족들과 사랑하는 사람들이 한자리에 모여 받은 복을 나누며 새로운 소망으로 즐겁고 기쁜 한가위가 되시기를 바랍니다.

Happy Hispanic Heritage Month! For the rest of September, I will be highlighting outstanding members of the Hispanic Community in CA-39. Be sure to follow me @RepYoungKim to hear their remarkable stories!

I am committed to helping California's 39th District get through the COVID-19 pandemic better than before. As we reopen our communities and get people safely back to work, I will do all that I can to make sure my constituents receive the relief you deserve.
