Thank you to all who attended our CA-39 wildfire roundtable and to our experienced panelists who offered their insights on federal, state and local wildfire coordination: Orange County Fire Authority Division IV Chief Baryic Hunter, CAL FIRE Assistant Region Chief for the Southern Region Glenn Barley, California Army National Guard Captain Robert Woodson, US National Weather Service Los Angeles/Oxnard Chief Meteorologist Mark Jackson and US National Weather Service San Diego California Meteorologist Matt Moreland.
I will bring their insight to Congress so I can work on solutions on the House Science, Space and Technology Committee that help our front line responders keep communities safe.

I’m so glad my team could help welcome AACE Homecare and AACE Financial Services to our Chino Hills community yesterday!
As Ranking Member of the Small Business Subcommittee on Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Workforce Development, I am working hard to fight for our small businesses, create jobs, cut red tape and promote workforce development opportunities so we get people back to work and our economy back on track.

Launched in 2013, EBB grants help homeowners strengthen older homes against earthquakes. The program is available in ZIP Codes that rank high in both seismic risk and concentration of older homes, including these in our community: 91724, 91765, 91766, 91768 and 91789.
Applicants are chosen in a random selection process and registration for the next round of grants will be open from October 27 through December 21, 2021. If you are eligible, I encourage you to apply!

I am thrilled to be able to expand our team’s presence in California’s 39th District by opening a second district office in Diamond Bar with team members that can assist constituents in English, Korean and Mandarin.
In my first ten months in Congress, my team has assisted more than 2,000 constituents with casework requests and has provided written responses to 32,230 inquiries. Constituents are invited to call the office, submit a request online or visit during office hours to receive assistance or share a concern.

As we see supply chain shortages hurting U.S. communities, we need pro-growth policies that boost port capacity, workers and businesses to get our economy back on track.
Ramming a massive spending plan through Congress that will raise taxes and continue to drive up prices is not the answer. Taxpayer dollars must be spent responsibly.

Nearly 8 million animals currently in shelters are struggling due to increased food shortages during the COVID-19 pandemic. At the same time, millions of pounds of useable pet supplies are wasted each year that could be going to animals in need.
Liability protections empower grocers and market sellers to donate surplus to food banks. So why don’t we extend those same protections to pet suppliers?
Today, I was proud to introduce the bipartisan Bring Animals Relief and Kibble (BARK) Act with Reps. Raskin (MD-08), Upton (MI-06) and McBath (GA-06). This bill ends to end food shortages facing animal shelters and reduce the millions of pounds of pet food wasted in landfills by providing liability protections to people and businesses that make donations of food and pet supplies to nonprofits and shelters.

I am committed to helping California's 39th District get through the COVID-19 pandemic better than before. As we reopen our communities and get people safely back to work, I will do all that I can to make sure my constituents receive the relief you deserve.
