I enjoyed speaking with a few Orange County high school students participating in the Future Leaders Program hosted by Supervisor Chaffee about my journey to Congress as well as opportunities for internships and service academy nominations through my office.  
American workers, families and small businesses continue to be burdened by supply chain disruptions made worse by container ship bottlenecks and higher shipping costs. We must take concrete steps to update our shipping laws and support our U.S. manufacturers and others exporting goods overseas.

This week, the House passed the Ocean Shipping Reform Act to update our shipping laws, and this bill was signed into law. I was proud to cosponsor the House version of this bill and hopeful it is a step in the right direction to help address our supply chain backlog and support small businesses, farmers and manufacturers. 
As a small business owner and Ranking Member of the Small Business Subcommittee on Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Workforce Development, I'm committed to supporting our small business owners and ensuring they have the tools they need to pursue their dream, create jobs and strengthen our local economies.

I joined Rep. Dean Phillips (MN-03) for a conservation with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce this week to discuss how we can support entrepreneurs in Congress.
I always enjoy seeing bright California faces in our U.S. Capitol! Thank you to Joanie and Paul and their grandson Declan for coming by for a Capitol tour and for the Top Gun Challenge Coin!

The Sunburst Youth Academy is part of the National Guard Youth Challenge Program, targeting at-risk youth ages 16-18, and helps get students back on track.

My office helped celebrate the Sunburst Youth Academy Class 29 Graduation Ceremony at the Mariner's Church Worship Center. 
This week we celebrated Flag Day! We commemorate 245 years of our bold stars and stripes, honor the Republic for which it stands and recommit to doing our part to protect our nation's values for future generations.

I am so grateful to be an American and wave our flag proudly today and every day!
Happy 247th Birthday to our United States Army!

Thank you to our brave soldiers past, present and future for heroically defending our nation's freedoms. We are the land of the free, because of the brave.
I came to Congress to bring common sense to Washington, break through the gridlock and get things done. I’m proud of my record of sticking to my conservative principles while being able to find common ground with colleagues across the aisle, and I'm humbled to receive the Legislative Action Award from the Bipartisan Policy Center.

I will continue working around the clock to deliver results for communities in Southern California and across the nation.
