Be sure to submit your answer! A random winner will be selected monthly from the correct answers and will receive some Rotary swag. In addition, a Paul Harris Fellow will be presented at the end of the Rotary year to someone that has presented a correct answer to the trivia question during the year. 

All correct entries have a chance to be selected for the Paul Harris Fellow, not just the monthly winners.

Polio Plus Raffle “Imagine One's Dreams” print
There is still time to buy tickets for the Polio Plus raffle.

We are almost halfway to our goal of raising $9,280 to send to Polio Plus. The raffle drawing will be held the week of World Polio Day at the RC of Hermiston meeting on Thursday, October 27th, at 12:50 PM. 

Last week District 5030 (Seattle) auctioned off their print and raised $10,500.

Please consider buying your ticket(s) or additional tickets to support District 5100’s efforts to raise money for Polio Plus. 

Ticket sales close at 5:00 pm on Wed., October 26th. 

The money raised through this raffle will be matched by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation 2:1, so when we sell all 464 tickets, that will result in $27,840 being contributed to the End Polio Now campaign. Please help us reach our goal!

Only two weeks remain until the raffle for the print of Darren Jones’ painting “Imagine One’s Dreams” that was created for his sister, RI President Jennifer Jones. 

Here is a picture of the original painting with the artist, and President Jennifer in her office at Rotary International headquarters.
We are raffling off a limited-edition print of the original painting, one of only 600 produced and valued at $1000 by the artist. It will be framed and delivered to the winner in November.

Tickets cost $21.55 ($20.00 + processing fee) and are available on the myevent website.

World Polio Day is October 24.
Please share your pictures and stories of club events to raise money for Polio Plus. Send your entries to the District Office to be included in our November newsletter.

Hurricane Ian Relief in Florida
Hurricane Ian caused significant damage to property and loss of life to many in Florida. District 6960 has established a relief fund for those wanting to support the work of Rotary clubs in that district working to deal with the devastation to their area. 

Much like the wildfires of 2020 that ravaged parts of District 5100, donations of time and money by Rotarians can truly make a difference in the recovery from this storm.

               Working to promote Rotary through our club projects and communications with the general public and with Rotarians within District 5100

Membership - Dennis Long and Julie Fugate, co-Chairs
               Focusing on finding ways to attract new members, but primary emphasis this year is to engage our existing members to retain them as members by finding their interests and focus.

Grow Rotary - Marcia Wimmer, Chair
               Growing membership will be accomplished by identifying opportunities for new clubs and to add Satellite clubs to existing clubs to provide additional opportunities to participate.

AWARDS

Applications are now being accepted for the 2022-23 Dick Elixman Award of Innovation. The Denny Purkey Distinguished Service Award is now posted as well.
