Simsbury turned out in force to celebrate 250 years, and SCM was there to capture every moment! Thank you to our amazing crew who recorded the event, and to our own Shannon Leary for emceeing. Happy Birthday, America!

SCM also captured a reading of the Constitution, along with a symphonic celebration from The Simsbury Community Band

The Simsbury

Woman

This month’s edition of The Simsbury Woman features Ronke Stallings, Chief of Staff & Strategy Officer for the Connecticut Technical Education and Career System (CTECS.) Ronke talks about options for students pursuing technical careers and how her work creates the opportunity to meet this moment in time for today’s youth. She also reveals, for the first time publicly, the creation of her new community focused AVM Foundation.

Join David Hollander for the final episode of Cartoon Gateway! In today's special presentation, David follows up his last season finale, by talking about everything he’s wanted to talk about on this show, but never had an excuse to. All of this to say, there’s a lot to talk about, and it goes all over the place.

Let us know when you’re ready to become an SCM host!

On August 6th, a town meeting that was being conducted over Zoom and simulcast on SCM’s linear and YouTube Channels was disrupted by an unauthorized user (it was hacked). Inappropriate content was substituted in the livestream in place of the meeting. Consequently, YouTube had suspended our channel.

Thankfully, our Youtube Channel is now up and running! Thanks to everyone who helped to get us back online, and for your patience as we navigated a challenging situation.

David is in our volunteer spotlight!

After three years as the host of Cartoon Gateway, our friend David Hollander has left Simsbury to start a new chapter in his life. During his time at SCM, David produced over twenty episodes of his show, which entailed writing, filming and editing; all skills he learned during his time at the station.

We wish David the best on his new adventure, and hope that he finds another place like SCM to continue doing what he enjoys.

Thank you, David!
