Free Satsang with Madhukar on  4/15/2018 7 pm  at Polestar Gardens

Madhukar is an enlightened master in the lineage of Ramana Maharshi and Papaji. On a rare visit to the United States, he'll be hosting satsang, and bringing his own kind of magic: a message and method for living in joy, ease, love and community, to US based friends, old and new. Madhukar Ji embodies love and peace, and in a playful bright manner, transmits that to others.

Madhukar studied economics and philosophy, and worked in broadcast journalism before embarking on spiritual seeking. In the early eighties, he made his way through Asia and studied with the Tantric-Buddhist Dzogchen-Master Namkhai Norbu, and experienced a spontaneous kundalini-enlightenment. In 1992, while staying in India, he met his master H.W.L. Poonja (Papaji), a disciple of the great sage Ramana Maharshi. With Papaji's blessing, for the last 30 years, Madhukar has passed on his knowledge in satsang (sat = truth, sangha = community). He emphasizes the harmony between spirituality and the sciences, such as physics, and sees that a life in awareness of the interconnection of all things is possible for every person. His teaching emphasizes self-inquiry with the question: "Who am I?". When the perceived, limited reality of the ego is questioned, pure consciousness (the Self) can be experienced. Tapping into this deeper Self, absolute freedom, over-all love and silent happiness are at hand - bringing a lightness to the daily experience of regular life.
Come and experience profound silence and meditation. You can bring questions to him as well.

Albizia Education. Learn to Control Albizia.

Interested in learning how to control young albizia BEFORE these fast-growing trees become a menace? Want to know more about how to contact absentee landowners or report trees in the ROW?  Come to an albizia workshop and learn how to take ACTION on albizia.
If you lived in Puna (or anywhere on the island) through Tropical Storm Iselle, you are likely well aware of the damage and impact these large, weak trees can have on a neighborhood. We are proud to be supporting island communities that are reclaiming their neighborhoods and turning back the tide against albizia one tree at a time.
EVERY 3RD SATURDAY OF THE MONTH: Join us for an information session about albizia!  Learn the proper technique for assessing trees for control and how to control them safely and effectively using a minimal amount of herbicide.  Learn the steps you can take to report dangerous hazardous trees in your community.  9-10am at the Hawaiian Paradise Park Activity Center, 16th & Maku'u.

A feature-length documentary, exploring the new music and social phenomenon of chanting, MANTRA - Sounds into Silence shares the stories of people who are finding healing and a sense of inner peace by singing mantras together with others just like them. It's a film about spirituality not religion, it's about people reconnecting with their true selves and with others.

As our characters' stories about their connection to the music unfold, we meet the musicians who have inspired them and brought them together. Through these encounters we will discover how Snatam Kaur, Deva Premal & Miten, Krishna Das, Lama Gyurme, Jai Uttal and MC Yogi, amongst others, came to this music themselves and to the practice of Kirtan, and how, over the years, it transformed their lives too.
