I am thrilled to kick off my first President’s Message with so much exciting news! First, we added a community pet clinic in January and the response was incredible. The new clinic, which served hundreds of animals and their people, was our most successful clinic ever! I would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to our volunteers, and to Gina Kennedy and the staff of Central Bark Westside, who made this clinic possible. Our next clinic at the Kosciuszko Community Center is just around the corner on April 27 where we look forward to serving many more people and their pets.
In February, Friends of MADACC offered to sponsor 150 spay and neuter surgeries for cats in the community. The response was massive and we unexpectedly filled all of our spots within the first four days! This reminds us how many people really need these life-changing services. Access to affordable and free spay and neuter options reduces the intake to MADACC and improves the well-being of Milwaukee pets, which are two of the main reasons Friends of MADACC exists! We are able to provide these resources through funding from individual donations, corporate sponsorships, and support by our many friends who come to our events throughout the year. Thank you to all of you for contributing to this very important work!
Speaking of events, the Buzzard’s Nest hosted a dart tournament for Friends of MADACC in March, ultimately raising $2,525 for Friends of MADACC in one night! Thank you to Melodie Pryor from the Buzzard’s Nest and everyone who participated in this fun event! We have so many more fun events coming up this spring and summer including Pints for Pups, Bark N Brew and of course Walk Run Wag, which is our biggest fundraising event of the year! If you haven’t already, please sign up to participate in Walk Run Wag by clicking the link below.
Lastly, I would like to personally thank everyone for the warm welcome since becoming President. If you missed our press release regarding our leadership change, you can find it
here
. I look forward to continuing our important work together as a community to help the animals of Milwaukee County!
Sincerely,
Kelly Oyler

Join us July 13th at Hart Park
for Walk Run Wag 2019!

Walk Run Wag
is our biggest fundraiser of the year and helps us accomplish a lot of the work we do, like the Community Pet Clinics featured below, the spay & neuter surgeries we talked about in February, and the medical cases featured here, just to name a few. Join us this year to help us reach our fundraising goal of $50,000. Here's how you can help:
Sign up for the Race
Join us at Hart Park on race day. 100% of race proceeds benefit Friends of MADACC. You can bring your pups, but it's also not a requirement. Walk as an individual or new this year, walk as a team! Can't make it on July 13th? Choose the "Sleep in" option and you don't have to do the race, but we will still mail you a shirt!
Learn more and register.
Become a Fundraiser
Whether or not you register for the race, you can still help us by fundraising! Set up your fundraising page on the RunSignUp site, set a goal, and start fundraising. We've even made an easy to use toolkit for you to help share your page. You can fundraise as an individual or as a team. Reach different fundraising levels and earn prizes. The team who fundraises the most will also receive a prize.
View the fundraising levels and learn how to set up your page.
Sponsor Walk Run Wag
Do you own a business that would be interested in sponsoring Walk Run Wag and being a vendor on the day of the race? Or do you think it's something your employer, colleague, or friend would be interested in? We have different sponsorship levels that offer different benefits for every type of business.
Learn more on this page and share it with your friends!

Meet Garth! Garth is young cat that came in with a fractured back leg that needed amputation. Often when cat legs are very fractured, from being hit by a car or other traumatic injury, they can not be fixed and amputation is the life saving surgery they need to live a normal life! Luckily this friendly guy made his way to MADACC and the vet staff here was able to help him out. Garth can still run and jump like other cats, he just looks a little different. Here at MADACC, with think being different makes you awesome!

Rufio came in with severe blunt force trauma to his head. His injuries required extensive (and expensive) surgery to his jaw. It was touch-and-go for him, and at times we weren't sure if he would make it. Thanks to donations from the Friends of MADACC medical fund Rufio has been able to get the care he needs. He had and still has a long road to a full recovery but we are so happy to share that he everyone who has met him says he is the sweetest dog!

Milton is an adorable 3 year old boy that came into MADACC rough. He had a fighting spirit and a will to live, so we gave it all we had to get him better. He had a broken jaw and frostbite on his ears and tail. He lost part of his ears and we had to amputate a good portion of his tail. The whole time he told us that he wanted to be here and for us to give him all love we could. Thanks to donations to Friends of MADACC's medical fund, this life saving work is possible! He is available for adoption today in the lobby. You WILL fall in love!

Want to get more involved with Friends of MADACC? We have several ways for you to help!
Fostering an animal from MADACC is one of the most important ways you can contribute to saving the lives of Milwaukee County’s neediest animals. The foster program includes dogs and cats, and you can foster animals even if you have pets of your own.

By supporting Friends of MADACC, you can help improve the lives of the 10,000 homeless animals that MADACC cares for every year. If you’d like to help our mission, you can make online donations to Friends of MADACC or material donations to MADACC.
