President's Message
Dear Friends,
Just like that, November is upon us and winter is coming. What a great year we’ve had at Friends of MADACC. This past weekend was our Halloween Puptacular at Urban Bay View. We saw some spooky Howl-oween costumes, for both humans and pooches alike. And this fall, we had some truly great events like Rockabilly for Rescue 2018 held at Kochanski's Concertina, the 7 th Annual Barktoberfest at Estabrook Park and our Annual Pit Bull Awareness Day Celebration hosted by Camp Bar in Wauwatosa which was the culmination of a month-long awareness campaign. There was also a canine calendar photo shoot [our calendar is now available for purchase], the third community pet clinic of the summer, and a Good Boy Happy Hour hosted by the Plaza Hotel. Wow – in looking back, we have really been quite busy. As we wind down and start to think about planning for 2019, we know that none of these events would have been possible without our wonderful volunteers, our many supportive local businesses always willing to host and encourage us, and all of you. Please know how grateful we are for all of you and just how much we appreciate your unending support. We hope to see you at our next event!

Pit Bull Proud T-Shirt Design Winner
Hi, my name is Macey Bechler and here’s just a little bit about me! I graduated from the Graphic Design Program at Madison College in 2012. For the past 6 years, I’ve been blessed to work as a Graphic Designer for Blue Dog Creative, LLC. out of Madison. Outside of work, I freelance occasionally. One of my projects that you may recognize locally is the logo/branding for Honeycomb Salon in Whitefish Bay.

I’m so honored to have my design chosen for this year’s pit bull awareness campaign! It means so much to me not only as an advocate for the breed but also as a pit bull owner. In fact, my t-shirt design features my dog, Samson. Four years ago we made the decision to adopt. We took a trip to the Wisconsin Humane Society and after meeting Samson, formerly named J.R., it was love at first sight. We knew we weren’t leaving without him. He’s the sweetest, 65 pound lapdog who wants nothing more than to curl up with us at the end of the day. He brings so much joy to our lives! He’s the best dog and is the reason I’m Pit Bull Proud!

Meet Brody
When Brody came in, it looked as though he had been hit by a car. He had a lot of wounds. His back right leg had a pretty bad fracture and ultimately needed to be amputated. Brody has now recovered from surgery and is ready to go to his forever home!

Adopt or donate to help animals like Brody!

Get Involved
Volunteer. Foster. Donate.
Want to get more involved with Friends of MADACC? We have several ways for you to help!

We are always looking for more volunteers to help us out at events. Volunteers can help with everything from flyers, to merchandise, to running our lure course. Learn more about volunteering opportunities for Friends of MADACC.

Fostering an animal from MADACC is one of the most important ways you can contribute to saving the lives of Milwaukee County’s neediest animals. The foster program includes dogs and cats, and you can foster animals even if you have pets of your own. Learn more!

By supporting Friends of MADACC, you can help improve the lives of the 10,000 homeless animals that MADACC cares for every year. If you’d like to help our mission, you can make online donations to Friends of MADACC or material donations to MADACC. Learn more!
