Community Partner Spotlight:

Celebrating One Year with SECOR Cares

This spring, we were thrilled to celebrate a special milestone with one of our incredible community partners, SECOR Cares in Parker, CO, marking one year of hosting a Clothes To Kids clothing collection bin.

In the last twelve months, their bin has become our most prolific - routinely overflowing with donations that add up to thousands of pieces of clothing every month. The generosity of the SECOR community has been nothing short of extraordinary, and the impact shines through every student who walks out of our store with dignity.

A huge factor in this success is Debbie Blair, program director at SECOR Cares. Debbie has been a true champion of this collaboration from day one, and her thoughtful, proactive approach has ensured that the bin remains a reliable source of high‑quality clothing for the families we serve. Her partnership and commitment have strengthened our mission and made this collaboration such a success.

To Debbie and the entire SECOR Cares community: thank you for an incredible first year. Your kindness, consistency, and community spirit make a real difference, and we’re grateful for the journey we’re on together.

We would also like to recognize the many volunteers who keep this high‑volume bin running smoothly with regular pickups. For example, this mighty mother-son team (pictured here), together with the Young Men's Service League, delivered a huge load of donations just last month. These volunteers are essential to this success story, and we are deeply grateful for their enthusiasm that keeps the donations rolling in. Thank you all for your service!

Celebrating 5, 10 and 15 Years!

We kicked off June by celebrating the 5-year work anniversary of our wonderful program associate Veronica “Vero” Armas! Vero has a strong passion for helping families in our community get connected with the resources they need, which she uses to create an inviting environment for shoppers, support volunteers, assist with donation intake/processing and keep the boutique organized.

On July 5 we celebrated the 10-year work anniversary of another terrific program associate, Maria Reyes! Maria is most often found at our front desk greeting families, fielding phone calls, scheduling appointments and assisting shoppers. Her calm and steady presence over the years has given her a strong connection with those we serve and has gone a long way toward creating a welcoming environment for shoppers and their families.

June 7 marked the 15-year work anniversary of communications director Katie Jones Jadwin! Clothes To Kids was less than three years old when Katie joined, and she's not only seen our immense growth but also been a driving force behind it. She was our first intern, first paid employee, first executive director and now first communications director.

When Katie started, Clothes To Kids had provided a total of 5,600 wardrobes since its inception; that number is now more than 141,000! Katie’s impact is felt in her tireless behind-the-scenes work. From powerful grant writing and meticulous financial management to showcasing our mission across social media and online platforms, Katie’s dedication is unparalleled. Her work ethic, generous spirit and deep love for our mission shine through everything she does.

Each of these stellar staff members is a huge part of our organization’s success, and we are so grateful for their hard work and dedication over the years. Cheers to many more years of impactful work together. We are so lucky to have them on our team!

Sharing the Love

We loved hosting this hard-working group from Liberty Mutual Insurance (no Emu this time!). They did every task possible and stayed until closing. One person even vacuumed their way out the door at the end of their shift! We really appreciate their dedication and support.

This great crew from the Denver office of KPMG recently came in for an afternoon of service. Their sorting and organizing in our storage area made a huge difference and really helped us restock our shopping area. Thank you so much for your hard work!

Kudos to this awesome group from Rocky Mountain Catering & Events for all their heavy lifting. Their restocking, consolidating and organizing left our space so much easier to use. Look at all those empty shoe boxes! We can't wait to host this energetic and fun group again soon.

Many thanks to Mona and Mark from Temple Sinai of Denver, Colorado for delivering the donations collected as part of their community's recent Mitzvah Day. The combination of these generous gifts of clothing and shoes, plus their volunteer service is so appreciated by our team and the students we serve.

This volunteer group from KeyBank was truly excellent. They were so enthusiastic, caring and helpful. They went right to work sorting, assisting shoppers and organizing our sizable collection of lost and found donations from local schools. Neighbors really do make the difference!

Meet our friend Shawn from Encompass Lending Group! He held a drive in cooperation with One Warm Coat at his company and brought in three bags of coats for all seasons. We are always looking ahead to the fall and winter months and appreciate this addition to our stockpile.

We had the pleasure of hosting two amazing groups from Deloitte for their company wide Day of Service. Their team members accomplished so much and did all it with a smile! We are so fortunate to have them as partners.

Our generous friend Jane has been putting her excellent bargain-hunting skills to good use. We can’t thank her enough for buying and donating these amazing finds to help fill our boutique. Thank you for all you do to make sure our shoppers have a great selection!

We are so grateful to Eva and the team from I Support the Girls - Denver for this incredible contribution of 1,000 bras, two pallets of clothing and new underwear from Victoria's Secret. Transporting this huge donation would not have been possible without Rob and Hercules Industries, who generously donated the time and people power to deliver everything to our store.

Our friends from boys team charity, Mile High League came through in a big way last week! They held a clothing drive and delivered three big rolling bins full of amazing items that really helped restock our racks.

We Hope You Can Join Us!
