Friends of CTKD Kickoff

Last week we officially kicked off our new Friends of Clothes To Kids of Denver group with a ‘Kicks for Kids’ themed happy hour at the home of our co-founder Joyce Meyers. We had an impressive turn out of more than 30 people and new Friends participants shared ideas on how the group can help meet the needs of our fast-growing organization.

Guests were invited to wear their favorite shoes and also bring some pairs to donate. By the end of the party, Joyce’s staircase was filled with new shoes, which have already left our boutique on the feet of happy students.

Interested in being an ambassador for our cause? Friends of CTKD will be holding 2-3 social events a year and we would love for you to join us. Email Valerie Lunka at val@clothestokidsdenver.org for more information. There are many ways members can get more involved, including volunteering on our shop, bargain hunting, hosting events and sponsoring collections. Volunteering is good for the soul (and sole) and is an excellent way to make new friends!

A Note From A Happy Parent

One of the best things about being around for more than 16 years is watching our shoppers grow up! A mom who has been bringing her kids to shop with us since 2013 just shared these before and after photos of one of her boys and this sweet message: “We first started using Clothes To Kids 12 years ago and it has been a savior for now two generations during the times when I needed you the most.”

Sharing the Love

Thank you to the CJW Bunco group for hosting another very successful Undie 500. This fun and energetic crew collected more than 700 pairs of new socks and underwear for our shoppers! Special thanks to our super-dedicated volunteer Ronna Tuteur for orchestrating these wonderful donations.

Our long-time friends at boys team charity, Mile High League recently delivered this wonderful donation of coats and clothing. We appreciate the many ways your group supports our mission!

This generous donor brought in 41 warm hats for our shoppers. They are extra special because they were handmade by her aunt who lives all the way in Texas! Thank you both for going the extra mile(s!) to keep our students warm.

It was fun to spend lunchtime with the many volunteers who attended our “Empower & Inspire: Elevating Volunteer Service in 2025” trainings. Topics included survey feedback, store culture and volunteer responsibilities. Such a fun and informative way to start our year!

This awesome supporter organized a collection of new and gently used shoes. Focused drives like these are so helpful to our shoppers, and shoes are always at the top of our list of greatest needs!

We hosted a great group of volunteers from the Denver Alumnae Chapter of Kappa Alpha Theta last week. They were an enthusiastic and hard-working crew that got the whole shop smiling!

Look at all those new shoes! These thoughtful donors snapped up some amazing deals at Walmart and donated everything they purchased to our shop. Our students always appreciate having new items to choose from. Thank you both for thinking of our shoppers!
