South Lancaster Rezoning Receives Approval

Council has unanimously approved a zoning by-law amendment to allow for an eight-unit apartment building at 20378 Old Montreal Road in South Lancaster.


The project will bring new housing options and make use of a currently vacant lot. After revisions to the original design following a public meeting, the development now meets key provincial planning goals while bringing diverse and accessible housing to South Glengarry.

AMPS By-law Receives Final Approval

Council adopted a new Administrative Monetary Penalties System by-law, which will take effect January 1, 2026. AMPS offers a faster, more cost-effective alternative to the traditional court system for addressing minor by-law infractions. The new system allows residents to either pay a penalty or appeal through a review process.

Victim Services SDG and Koala Place Announce Upcoming Move


Chantal Prieur, Executive Director of Victim Services SDG and Koala Place, presented to Council, highlighting the vital support and programs the organizations provide to individuals and families in need. As part of their continued growth, she announced that both agencies will soon be relocating to a new, shared space at 132 Second Street in Cornwall - an exciting move aimed at expanding services and enhancing collaboration..

Council to Review Activities on Unopened Road Allowances

Council received a report and has directed Administration to consult with the Agricultural Resource Committee regarding activities and alterations identified on the Township’s unopened road allowances. This follows the creation of an inventory highlighting these areas, which revealed various uses and changes across the network..
