The THRIVE Program (Temporary Relief for Individuals in Housing Emergencies) assists households in Cornwall and SDG with securing and retaining long-term housing by providing financial support for rental and utility arrears, upfront heating costs, first and last month's rent, medical expenses, and other exceptional circumstances.

February 3rd Council Meeting Highlights

Award of RFP 2024-14 - Construction of Glen Walter Water Tower

Council awarded RFP 2024-14 for the construction of a water tower in Glen Walter to Landmark Structures Co. in the amount of $7,793,000 excluding HST. This project will be partially funded by provincial and federal grants, with Council committing the Township to finance between $4.5M - $6.4M, pending the 2024 closing balance of the Glen Walter reserves and future funding opportunities.

Approval of 2025 Grants and Donations


Council approved the 2025 Grants and Donations, awarding $56,544 to community organizations. A balance just under $6,000 remains for additional requests received throughout the year. Funding highlights include:

  • $20,000 to the Maxville Manor Redevelopment Project.
  • $4,000 to the Glen Cairn Lodge to offset the cost of a generator.
  • $4,000 to the Glengarry Fencibles Trust for accessibility improvements.

Q4 Departmental Reports - 2024


Council received quarterly departmental reports for the fourth quarter of 2024. Q4 Highlights include:

  • The adoption of the 2024-2026 Strategic Plan.
  • The approval (in principle) of the 2025 budget.
  • Completion of the roof replacement at the Williamstown Fire Station.
  • Completion of roads resurfacing projects on Sabourin Dr. and Glen Rd.
  • Completion of Jack Danaher Park well project.
